I am also one who hasn't heard of it but I would be very very wary of taking any type of medication instead of trying to find a more natural way. If yuo have it, spend the money on a private consult with a lactation consultant, I know they work miracles in this area. If all you need is a little help with more milk they will know what to do, just phone the hospital your babywas born at and they will know how you can contact one.
Also a lot of people recommended fenugreek and I have heard over 80% of women who take it claims it helps so try that first. YOu have to take ALOT tho, one or two pills will not help, think more like 9-12 in a day, my lactation consultant said your urine should smell like maple syrup, that's how you know you are taking enough. Unfortunatly I am one of the 20% that the fenugreek didn't help, I tried it with my son and my twins. I found that brewers yeast helped me, also available at GNC. Again you have to take close to a dozen a day, there are no side effects to either. Fenugreek is a gentle herb and brewers yeast is (obviously with the name) what is used to make beer but it contains no alcohol, its just used in the process. Its a great source of natural b vitamins is all. I went thru 3 gaint bottles with my twins and had no side effects at all, just more milk:)
Again if you are having trouble I strongly recommend getting in touch with a lactation consultant before you take the meds approach.
Good luck
