I have remodeled several kitchens/baths of my own. Several things to look at when remodeling...are you changing your configuration at all...your cabinets are they solid wood or builder grade laminate...if they are a good wood and paneled I would look at refinishing rather than replacing. In the kitchen remodel pics on my website, these cabinets are 20+ years old, just did some minor changes to bring up to date, paint/glazing and some minor reconfiguring.
