Resale Tips

You're only going to get about 25% of what the resale shops will sell it for. Definitely use them as a last resort. I sell a lot on ebay and CL..I recommend CL first so that you don't have any fees. There are also Yahoo groups you can sell through for our area as well. Many times I've had better luck on them then any others. And everyone is local so you don't have to deal with mailing items either. If you search groups you can try tarrant county online garage sale, dfw give sell or trade or dfw online garage sale.

Hi R., there is a second-hand kids store on Davis Blvd (NRH) called Finders Keepers for Kids. The only downside is you definitely won't get much money as they have to resell the stuff. However, anything is better than nothing I always say. Also, my husband owns an internet marketplace called mystore.com. It's like ebay and craigslist but more user friendly and way easier to use. There should be a JBF sale coming up really soon in Denton. Search their website on google or yahoo and then look for the location in Denton. It's run by the same ladies as the one in NRH. Also, I have had really good luck selling gear like gates etc on Craigslist be very specific in your listing and up front on details.

There is one resale store in weatherford that pays real good. My sister in law goes there...she found a crib at a yard sell for 10 dollars and they paid her 80 for it.
And I mean one resale store. Only 1.

Another resale is Divine Consign. It's great, it's like JBF. I also sell on ebay and CL, but I really don't have that much time to deal with descriptions, pictures, mailing, etc. Good luck.

Save all your fall/winter clothes for the JUST BETWEEN FRIENDS consignment sale in Ft. Worth next September. In the meantime, put up all your dd's outgrown spring and summer stuff for the Spring/summer sale in March. I usually make between 100-300.00 dollars at the Ft. Worth sale. YOu can also sell toys, accessories, shoes, etc. I have done the Arlington JBF sale and it isn't nearly as organized and consignor friendly. Plus, the Ft. Worth sale is at least 3 times as big as the Arlington one. yOu can do more that one sale though. There are also other sales all over the metroplex. If you check the jbf sale website you can check to see if there are other sales in the area still having fall/winter sales. It is worth it to store your stuff for another year, beleive me! Also, you get to shop the sale early to get new clothes for your dd.

I have also sold my used things to Kid to Kid, but you won't make nearly as much and they won't take everything. They are pretty picky because they have so much stuff.

You will get very little back at the resale shops - I am talking less than $1. The best place to sell it that I have found is at our local Just Between Friends sales - they happen twice a year in the spring and fall. You tag your own items and you price them (like what the resale stores sell them at). You make 70% and you also get to shop at the presale. They have loads of great stuff. Otherwise if you have a lot of Gymboree/Gap/Old Navy or great brands like that and your clothes are in excellent condition you could sell them as a lot on ebay.
