Now that her teeth have come through, she's getting really restless while she's sleeping. And it's not a restful sleep. If anything she's even more tired after she wakes up. Have any of you experienced this?

So What Happened?

I tried what some of you suggested, and it seem to have helped a little, now she's just tossing and turning during the night like she can't find a comfortable position. But we're working through it. Thanks for all the advice.

Either give her tylenol or motrin right before bed and maybe in the night if she wakes up. However, DON'T give her orajel or anything like that that "numbs" the pain. It toughens the gums, numbs the nerves and causes more trouble for the tooth to come through.

Give her some baby tylenol. I'd try some orajel too. Teeth aren't a fun time for anyone. She may run a slight fever too. All that is normal behavior and it will get better before long.

Give her the dose of infant Tylenol that her doctor recommends for her weight before she goes to bed if you know her teeth are bothering her before bed time. It will help her teeth not hurt so much while she is sleeping. If it's real bad, put a little oragel on her teeth. The oragel dosen't last long, so if she wakes up crying because of her teeth, apply a little more.
Good luck.

When my kiddos couldn't sleep because of teething, I gave them motrin at bedtime. Works better than tylenol because it took care of the swelling gums -- which is what is painful. They slept much better.

I saw someone recommend motrim, I wonder how it works. Tylenol actually made my daughter restless.
I also used orajel for a few days, just about 4 days and once they came in, it was over. It did help her sleep cos when she went to bed her teeth throbbed. You know when you're relaxed you're more aware of pain or discomfort.
