Hi All,

We are thinking of taking our almost 6 year old and 4 year old to see the movie Rio.

In Lansing at Eastwood Towne Center they show it in "Real D 3D" format and wanted to know a couple of things...

1) How much are these glasses?
2) Would it really even be worth seeing the movie in 3D?

Thanks!

What can I do next?

My nine year old son and I went and saw Rio on Friday. My son liked it a lot and I thought that is was very cute! Lot's of bright colors throughout the movie. We did not see it in 3D but here in Dallas I think that to see it in 3D it costs approx. 3-4 dollars more per ticket. I hope you enjoy it!

Here in Colorado it is $1-$3 more per movie to see it in 3D. As an adult I would say not it is not worth it, but it would be probably worth it for the kids. My son does not like the glasses, so we usually skip the 3D, but it would really depend on what your kids are into. Avatar was the only 3D movie that I have seen that was not distracting for me, but it was filmed in 3D vs most movies that are converted later in a process that affects the picture quality IMO.

We just saw the Rio preview when we went to Hop today and it looks really good. = )
