Hi, What kind of steroids was she taking? I ask because my son used the inhalant steroid, Pulimicort, once a day for at least 1-1/2 years. The doctor said that there was no substantial side effect, but my husband is afraid that it has affected his growth. He is now 3 years old and has been off the Pulmicort for almost 4 months and is doing fine. I know I did the right thing by adhering to the doctor's recommendation of Pulmicort, especially through cold & flu season ... but my husband was never really on-board with it. He is in the 25% for his height at age 3, and even the doc said that his height has been all over the chart, so she said not to worry ... how could I not? My husband is basically telling me that he thinks that my son is not growing properly because I chose to give him the Pulmicort. My son is healthy and thriving, so I know I did the right thing, but just pray that it does not affect him in a negative way in the long run. Sorry to download, but I was just curious in your situation what steriod you were using.
My son has a simple exzema on his face and my doc recommended a mix of (75%) Eucerin Calming Cream + (25%)Cortizone cream. Its only been a few days it is feeling better. My son had allergy tests in March last year and ended up not being allergic to anything ... weird, our pediatrician was saying every little virus he would catch was 'allergy triggered' and until I finally took my son to an allergy/asthma doctor, we didn't know. We had to have his little sinuses x-rayed and all - what a trip! Come to find out that he had some sort of minimal bacterial infection in his little sinuses - so every time he was exposed to a new cold/virus, he would have an extreme infection - he never had a chance to really get better before another cold/virus would come around (he was in daycare full time then). If you would like a good allergy/asthma doctor - try Purnima Venkatesh in Bedford -- she is worth the drive!
