I was just wondering if anyone uses this service and if it truly produces the savings that they claim. Someone my husband works with claims that her grocery bill went from $800 to $500 per month. We don't spend that much per month, but would love to save every cent I can. I don't want to subscribe if it isn't all it's cracked up to be.

Thanks.

Hi, I have been using SA since March. I love it and yes I have saved ALOT of money! Two days ago i went to Meijer and saved $67.00. Now, I have saved $113 and $117 at Meijer before. I also go to Walgreens and have saved anywhere between $30 and $60 each time. I love it and think it is so well worth the savings. You can sign up and try it for a month too. My code is 9075 if you are interested and I am pretty sure you can get a month for free. I just save the Sunday coupons (Smart Source and Red Plum)That is the name of the coupon inserts.

I don't know much about Savings Angel, but I have also been using Grocery Game. I love it! On my shopping trip to Meijer this past week, I spent $44.62 and SAVED $71.63!! $45 a week in groceries sounds good to me! Sometimes I spend more depending on what's on sale and what we need. We could probably live for a month on what we have stored up except we'd need to buy milk and meat. I spend about 2 hours a week going through the lists, cutting coupons, and getting organized. Yes, the lists can't come out on Sun when the paper does because the services need time to actually go through the ad to make the list!
As far as Savings Angel goes, I don't see the 2 week free trial on their site anywhere. I'd love to try it for free to see how it compares to GG. GG let me try it for free for a month. They have lists each week for Meijer, Walgreens, Rite Aid, Kroger, and CVS. I don't have the latter 2 stores in my area but if you do, you'll have lists for them. They do not have a list for Felpausch so I use the same principals and do that store on my own. Does anyone know if SA has a list for Felpausch?? GG bases your list on your zip code so if you have a store within a certain number of miles then a list will be available for you to add.
When I was choosing which service to use I chose GG because of the free trial (all lists in your area free for a month!), the low cost ($10 every 2 months for 1 store and $5 every 2 months for each additional store), and the free message boards where you can get help and advice on anything having to do with GG. They employ admins to answer any question or help with any problem and the community is huge! I also chose GG because they let you know the best time to use your coupon. I don't know if SA does that or not. Just because something is on sale and/or you have a coupon doesn't mean it's the best time to buy it. GG lets you know when an item is at "rock bottom" and when it's just a good price (so you can buy it if you can't wait for rock bottom) and how to best play your coupon.
I know I practically wrote a book but I hope what I said has helped you!! I really believe in these services so if you have any questions, please PM me and I will help in any way I can!

I tried it for a couple of months, and ended up canceling my membership, as I didn't have the time to sit down at my computer every week to go through the add & print things off. It's a handy service as they tell you where to get the coupons, but the site isn't updated until Monday, and I'm a Sunday shopper. Hope this helps.

If you don't know how to coupon/sale shop, it's worth it. I have been coupon shopping for years and I found that if I take the time to go through the sale flyers each week, I often do better then they do b/c I often had coupons from other places that they did not list and therefore if I went just by what they say I would have missed.

I believe they do a trial membership - if you don't currently coupon shop, try it and see. I stopped my membership as I found I just wasn't using it. (I regularly save at least as much, if not more, than what I spend on groceries. I think I spend $300-$400 a month on groceries for 4, and that includes diapers and formula and other non-food related items (soap, detergent, etc)r

Hope this helps -

If you've ever looked at the coupons in the Sunday paper you can expect what you'll be saving on. I used both the Grocery Game and Savings Angel at different times and was unimpressed due to my personal shopping habits. I don't buy boxed meals and many prepackaged snacks, frozen dinners or soda etc. I did save on toiletries but started running out of room for all the toothpaste and stuff in our small apartment. I also found that I started buying stuff I wouldn't normally buy just because it was 70% off or something. I've seen some of the pictures of peoples pantries and it is amazing when you see 400 cans of tuna in one spot or 30 boxes of cereal. I'm not against having a large supply (our church encourages us to have a year supply of food in case of any number of emergencies) I just found these systems didn't work for us.

Hi! I didn't read your other responses, but I did savingsangel for a short time. It wasn't right for me at the time...BUT I know a few people who do it and it has PROVEN to be awesome for them.
I will tell you my experience: When you start, it is time consuming to get yourself in a schedule of coupon clipping and checking things online pertaining to savingsangel, etc. After you get the hang of it, I hear that it's not so bad. Also, a lot of the coupons I noticed were for name brand things, and I tend to buy the off brand or store brand, so I would compare the store brand cost to the cost of the name brand with a coupon, and would end up getting the store brand instead and not even use my coupon. But that's not always the case. Also, you will be able to see what coupons you can use while the store is having a sale and save extra, which is cool! I think a lot of the savingsangel people go to a variety of stores to get all the savings, but for me personally, it caused more stress to my already stressful days- because I just don't have the time to be going all over to get my groceries; I want to be able to go to Meijer and get it all done at once. Not that I wouldn't benefit from it by only going to one store, but I wouldn't benefit near as much. Also, the time it took me to cut coupons, and make sure I got all the coupon flyers I could. There is also a little cost you have to pay each month to be a member. If you get someone else to sign up, you can get paid a little each month that they are a member as well. So...I think it comes down to what you want to mess with in order to get to the 'good' place where you would be at in the few months after you started. I don't think it's a bad thing by any means, it just wasn't right for me...at the time : - ) Hope this helps!!

I Love it! I have saved soooooooooooooo much money! I agree that I have other coupons that they don't have for lots of baby things, and others, but it just makes it just that much sweeter of a deal. I like it most because I don't have to look for the coupons and clip them ahead of time. It tells you which coupon book from which date, in which to find them. I just save the whole coupon book each week out of the paper. I personally shop off of the site and plan my meals for the week around what the sales are, and stock up on things that we use all the time when they are on sale. I personally have cut on average my grocery bill by 55%- 65%. A lot of times I do better than that. I was really leary about trying it because I thought it was soooo expensive, but it saves me so much more than I spend on it, and if you get people to sign up under your referal #, it costs less. They offer a two week free trial, or a buy 30 days get 30 days free...I would recomend the latter so that you can get a few weeks worth of coupons built up from which to shop from. If you don't have a referal # of someone already, you can use mine it is 6001. Best of luck to you, I hope it saves you as much as it does me.

I tried it for the 30 day trial- I hated it- they want you to buy a ton of your local paper so you can get multiple coupons (seriously they want you to by a least 10 papers!) My friend signed up for it- it is like $19.95 a month, she liked it for a little while, but now she can't find any place to cancel it.

Do yourself a favor, save your $20 on the service and the extra $10 on the multiple news papers (per week!) and just watch the sale ads, shop at Aldi, and buy store brand where you can- we save much more money that way! Savings Angel just isn't worth it!

With this program you have to be able to store lots of things. I know you have to buy multiple of items to get the good deal. Make sure you have enough freezer space, as some of the items are large packages!

I've hears a lot of people say that they have seen significant savings. It's a lot of coupon cutting and watching ads and using both. From what I've heard it can be time consuming and you have to be willing to spend some time on it. We don't use it, mainly because most coupons are for packaged meals - things in cans or boxes - and we don't use those type of things. We do a lot of fresh meat and fresh vegetables, so we wouldn't see a huge benefit. Plus we maybe spend $75 a week to feed 4.
