Hi Moms,
I have a niece who will be turning 13 this month and I have no idea what to get her for her birthday. She loves Abercrombie but I don't want to get a gift certificate and my budget is only $25. What is the "IN" thing for girls this age? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

What can I do next?

I have a 12 year old son. For the last couple of years his favorite gifts have been based on activities and time together. Examples are concert tickets, a trip on a sail boat arranged through Monterey Bay Aquarium, spending the day at the museum without his little sisters, a trip to the movies, etc. Some of these might be over your budget, but maybe you could give a joint gift and have someone share the cost with you. You could schedule a "girl's" day with her and take her out to lunch someplace nice.

I know my daughters loved getting lip gloss or nail polish at this age~~~ and if it is specially chosen for her, all the better ;)

Hello,
Maybe try going to Bath and Body Works, The Body Shop or Victoria's Secret or somethng like that. She may like some body spray and lotion. Maybe even try a cute pair of earings and a necklace, or an outfit. You can also try taking her to get a manicure and a pedicure, if she's into that kind of stuff. Girls are so hard to buy for! Good Luck :)

I'm afraid I don't have a lot of insight on what would be "in" for 13YO's but does she have some specific interest (art, science, music, etc.) that you could get her a magazine subscription for?
