Hello! I have lived in Romeoville for almost 3 years, and sad to say that I have not met anyone out here! I have a son who is a little over 1 year & I am almost 30. We are just looking to get to know some people & possibly establish some friends in the area. Anyone intersted?

Pm me anytime and we can get together at a park or something. Here are some resources... The romeoville Park District is very nice. Also come on ove rto Bolingbrook we have a great park district with tons of things for kids, parent tot swim time (no depth pool) imagination station, musicy type classes. Also the Fountaindale Library in both Romeoville and BB are very nice adn have free classes. I hope that helps a bit. You definitely need to have a social network for sure! also is there a moms club that way? We have one in BB but I think you have to live here.
Hi J.,
I am a member of several yahoo groups including one that is for Romeoville and surrounding areas. I also have a Will County Moms group if you are interested. Here is the link for mine http://groups.yahoo.com/group/WillCountyMoms/
Or, if you would like the link to the Romeoville one, you can email me at ____@____.com The owner of that one lives in Romeoville and is super sweet! I live in south Plainfield and my youngest is almost 14 months old. I don't live too far if you ever want to get together at a park or something. :-)
My son and I are always out and about doing stuff (open gyms, nature walks, parks). He is two and I am 32 and we live in Bolingbrook. He doesn't have many friends either and the one he does have is in Romeoville too. We try to get together once a week for our sanity :) If you want to message me I can let you know of anything happening for the little ones and maybe we can hang out!
J.,
I know exactly how you feel. Getting involved in playgroups has helped me tramendously. There are a lot of moms with young kids where I live in South Naperville, but non of them are very friendly or go out of their way to initiate conversation etc... My son, who is 2 years old is an only child (and will remain so), and we recently joined an only child play group. It is a wonderful way to make friends and come out of feeling so isolated. If you are interested in joining us, I would be happy to get you connected! Please let me know. There are about 8 or so of us moms who live in the area who get together with our kids. Hope to hear from you!

Hi J.! My name is D. and my daughter is 4 and we would love love to get together sometime and go to the park! I have been in the area for a really long time and I am also looking for new friends! send me a message and maybe we can set a time when we can get together!
You can check out Meetup.com for mom's groups to join. Jungle Safari at the Romeoville Park and Rec Department is a lot of fun. There are usually quite a few moms there to talk to. http://www.romeoville.org/Parks/RecCenter/Brochure/jungle...
There is a great online support group/playgroup called "meet up" They do a lot of activities with the kids and without the kids. There are different ones for each area. I'm sure you will like this group.
Best of wishes!

It's really hard to make friends! My husband and I have been in the burbs with kids for almost two years for now and haven't had much luck... Try momsclub.org to find a local club in your area. If not, try MOPS (available at local churches) or meetup.com is an excellent resource as well!!!
I have been in Romeoville for over 30 years.....Step out of the box. Have you attended church at any of the established churches. The United Presbyterian Church Belmont & Rt 53...wonderful people. That is where I first met many of the friends I still associate with today. Enroll in a yoga class at the Rec Center Romeo Rd east of Weber.....If not yoga try any of their programs. I have had great experiences there also. Good Luck and SMILE!
