Hi, I am seeking a good pediatric dentist or a dentist that will take kids. My daughter just turned one and she has 8 teeth already! I want them to get checked to see that everything is going great with them. But I also need for them to take the CHIP. I dont remember what group I have for the dental, but I have THE TEXAS CHILDREN'S HEALTH PLAN. I would like to know if someone has any special recommendations for a good dentist. I am scared of the dentist so I don't want my daughter to grow up with that fear like me. If anyone can help me out it will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

What can I do next?

Dr Pittman and the others at Pediatric Dental Specialists are great!!! They are located on Louetta near Old Louetta but I am not sure if they take CHIP. Their # is ###-###-####. I did not get warm fuzzies from Dr. Maria Green on Red Oak but I think she might have taken CHIP. Because I too have a big fear of dentists, I wanted to make sure the person I used for my children was perfect. They don't take my insurance so I have to pay out of pocket and then wait to get remembursed but it is worth it. Dr. Pittman and the others are wonderful. Good luck! TS

Most dentists don't want to see a child until they are at least 3, sometimes closer to 4 is better. As long as you are keeping their teeth brushed twice a day, they are fine.

Dr. McCandless in Tomball is a wonderful Pediatric Dentist. Highly recommend her. My son went for the first time a few months ago, and had a very positive experience.

I took my two year old to Dr Matthews on Nanes Drive. He has a peditric dentist office and they were so great at putting her at ease. You walk in and there are toys everywhere. They have silly names for the instruments but they walk them through everything and tell them exactly what they are going to use and what will happen. Not sure if they will see a one year old. They really haven't had a chance to rot their teeth at just a year :). Either way, they are great when she is old enough to go. www.richardmatthewsdds.com

I think they said that they were working on the website but this gives most info.
