Seeking a Legitimate Stay at Home Job.

Hello Ladies,

I'm a new mommy and like most moms, I wish I could stay at home with my sweet daughter. I currently work about 45 minutes away from home. I spend a lot of time on the road, valuable time I could be spending with my daughter. She is breastfed and doesn’t take the bottle too well still.

I'm currently an Administrative Assistant Manager for a Leasing Office for 5 years now and I also have 7 years of Retail Management experience. Although school is currently on hold, I'm also a student working toward an Art Therapy Masters degree at the George Washington University.

I've searched the internet for legitimate telecommuting positions only to find unrealistic offers -- most likely scams. Is there anyone out there that knows about stay at home positions that can refer me to the right place? I'm thinking of becoming a babysitter if all else fails. :(

I appreciate your responses.

Sincerely,
F.

I found the perfect work from home job a couple of months ago. I am still working full-time, but hope to be working exclusively from home some day. It has been a life saver because I’m able to get some extra money by putting in a couple hours a week. You can work at your own pace and make your family’s schedule BEFORE your work schedule. Let me know if you are interested and we can talk more.

Lots of moms enjoy doing something in the direct sale industry - those home parties. Things like Pampered Chef, Mary Kay, Lea Sophia, Sentsy Candles ... really there's something for just about any personality type. Generally, these are not scams. There is an upfront investment to buy a "starter kit" (should be around $100 for most I think) and that gets you all the materials you need to hold your first parties. Try out any product before you decide to sell it (it's much easier to sell something you already love). You don't have to be the "sales type" to do well - a person is more successful in these if she is good with people and willing to be teachable. Also look into how much they pay - you get a commission of your sales, and it varies from 15% to 50% depending on the company. Also ask about training and support; people generally do better when they have a lot of support but you don't want to pay to get it. Also, if it's not something you're really familiar with, find out if they are part of the Direct Sales Association. And the big focus should be on selling, not recruiting. You want something that will encourage you to build customers and do demonstrations, not something that wants you to sign everyone up (then who would you sell to? lol).

The benefit is you can work as much or as little as you want, and you get to pick your own hours. The drawback can be that you are paid only on commission so the income is based entirely on your self discipline and how much you are willing to do. (But it's not luck - its being willing to work with enough people to get the results you want. You can be in control of how much you earn).

I have been in a direct sales company for 3 years and love it - if you want more details message me, but I don't want to "advertise" here :)

I work at as a manager of a storage rental facility. Yes, I work away from home, but my boss allows me to bring my 4 year old with me to work. I have some of her toys here and we practice writing her letters, etc. Maybe you can find something like that. It's a very slow paced job, so when she is napping I have time to get online, etc.

Home parties are definitely a good option, and there are many companies to choose from. I've been a nurse for over 30 years (retired now) and have been doing Pure Romance parties now for 10 years, and I LOVE it! My husband keeps saying, "you know, you can retire if you want to." Yeah, but I don't want to!! We are the fastest-growing and most successful company of its kind out there. We sell bath and massage products, lingerie, and romance-enhancing products, from edible lotions to bedroom toys. It's fun, it's educational, and it's good money. If you're interested, you can email me at ____@____.com for more info.

first great job on still breastfeeding. So many women give up when they go to work but it is the healthier way for your child. I do know of a company that is called Arise. Just type in your search engine it will come up. My best friend works there and has for over 7 years now. It is an independent contract company. She has worked for Disney (she has workded for all 7yrs), Walgreens, and Home Depot. You can get your hours from different companies or just one. You do put money in but you will be able to stay at home. It is a great investment. Just look into it and see if it is something that you would like to do. I myself watch 2 other kids beside my 3. I still go out and do things with all of them. It keeps me active but it can be tiring.
Wishing you the best,
N.
