Seeking a School for My 4 Year Old

Does anyone know about Warrington Elementary or Edgewater Elementary? I hear they're crowded or not good schools. I was thinking about putting my daughter in Pensacola Christian Academy, but afraid of how much it will be. I'm getting an information packet on them, but I still wanted to know what everyone thinks about the first two schools I mentioned.

What can I do next?

Well, I don't know anything about the first two schools, but I graduated from the college that is associated with PCA. The only advice that I can give you is that if you want to have a disciplined environment around your child and you want them to learn a lot, then that would be the way to go.

I also know about the concerns for the financial end of schooling, but I can tell you one thing. I never went to a public school - my parents sacrificed a lot to put me into a Christian school for all of my education - I would not give any of it up. I remember talking to friends that went to public schools and them telling me about some of the things that they had to put up with on a day to day basis.

I am not saying that your child won't get picked on or anything like that, but they won't be exposed to the sick stuff that happens is some of the public schools.

Well, I hope that I helped a little.
I know that they do teach patriotism in PCA, they stand behind our troops and they push the kids to support our troops, since your spouse is a soldier then I thought that might make a difference to you.

I have two beautiful children, a 4 yr. old girl and a almost 2 yr. old boy. I intend to have them in Christian school their whole life. I remember my years of my education and I look back on them fondly.

There are several VPK 4 progams around. One is Trinity Learning Center on Bayou Blvd... there are many others in good areas of town. The VPK programs are free. My kids go to Episcopal Day School downtown and we love it. They go from PreK3 to 8th grade. It is pricey but worth every penny!

I agree with the other lady. It's expensive but PCA is the best. There aren't many good schools around here. Make sure you do your research!

I heard that Edgewater isn't a good school at all, they are a grade D and in a very bad neighborhood. We also looking for a good school to send our 5 year old boy. I got a packet on Christain school you are looking into, and they aren't cheap. I was going to look into Warrington Elem school for my son.

Hello D.,
My name is Cindy and I have four girls. My first daughter went to Edgewater for a while. It was okay. I feel the best school in Pensacola (elementary) is Blue Angels. The elementary schools in Pensacola are crowded but they don't have as many problems as the middle and High schools. My daughters are all out of school now except for the youngest who is twelve. She is now being home-schooled. I would love for her to go to PCA but am also concerned about the cost. PCA is probably your best option aside from home-schooling.

I was told that PCA is a good school. I looked them up on the great school website and then also researched on their homepage. I would recomend it, it is exspensive, but I think it's well worth it and it's actuly less exspensive then all the other prvate schools in the area that i looked into.
My son goes to edgewater, right now and it's only because we transfered mid year. The school is small and looks run down from the outside, I was not too happy with them reciving a C score on the ranking list. I was told when I went for the tour by the secrectary that it was because they lost their highest ranking class score, which would have bumped them up to an A, but that they have a new principal and have upgraded their Computer lab. They seemed nice, but I was not impressed with their location either, a really low income run down looking neighbor hood.
Anyway, I hope I was somewhat helpful, I have some more information you should know, if you are interasted you can call me or email me.
