Hello fellow Super-mommies,
I was wondering if anyone has tried the Costco brand diapers, think they are called Kirkland's. Are they comparable to the other diaper brands? I've never tried them out. I didn't want to buy a whole bulk and stuck with diapers I wouldn't use. Thanks, in advance for any helpful advice.
Wow! I am so surprised of how many replies flooded in about my question. Thank you so very much for sharing your advice and experiences with the Kirkland's diapers. My husband and I purchased the Huggies brand recently because it was cheaper to buy the Huggies at the time; we broke it down cost per diaper. Since I now know that Huggies makes the Kirkland's brand, I will definitely give them a shot if the price comparison is cheaper at Costco. You never know. It may change on our next trip out. I wanted to mention that we do use the Kirkland's wipes. They are certainly not as thick as some of the other brand names, but they don't break out my daughter, work just fine, and are a super deal. Considering today's economy, you simply can not beat that. Until next time ladies! Take care, and God bless!

I use Kirkland brand diapers almost exclusively (unless I find a super deal on another brand somewhere). I think they are really good. They are very thick and absorbent. My only complaint is that they are kind of long in the private area so they stick out a little. Really not a big deal - just a little weird looking. The tabs are like velcro so they open and close multiple times without a problem. I recommend giving them a try!

yes we use kirkland brand and love them! i would compare them to the huggies supreme diapers. We've never had any accidental leaks in them, unlike the regular huggies.

I've tried them and love them! My daughter has been using Kirkland diapers for the last 12 months or so. They are just as good as the higher priced ones. I either buy Huggies or Kirkland whichever is on sale at Costco. Good luck!

I used to use the Pampers Cruisers until Costco stopped carrying them and then switched to the Kirkland ones. I think they are pretty comparable with Huggies.

I tried them once and didn't even make it half-way through the box....they were horrible....leaking like crazy! I actually returned them half-used and they took them back, no questions asked. That being said, really think each child wears diapers differently based on their build....so what didn't work for mine might work for yours. I only used Pampers Cruisers, no other brand held a candle to them for how well they fit and they only leaked if saturated.

I tried them, I thought they smelled strongly of plastic, so I stopped using them. Otherwise, I would have been very happy with them.
One very important thing to notice though, is that often they are MORE expensive per diaper than Huggies. Check their per-diaper price before you assume they're a great deal. Since Huggies were actually cheaper (sold right next to the Kirkland diapers), I've opted for Huggies instead.
And I love Kirkland signature wipes!
But, you can always try out the Kirkland ones and if you don't like them, you can return them as long as half of the box still remains. I love Costco's return policy!

Yes, I have tried them and I find them to be excellent compared to other brands of diapers, such as huggies and pampers. Try them out - you will save $ and you will see that the quality is very good.
Also - the Costco baby wipes are excellent as well - try those too!
Thanks

I absolutely love Kirkland Diapers. I used to use Luvs (I've never cared for pampers, and the Sam's club brand is not great either) and switched to Kirkland and never went back. Costco has a great return policy. I'm pretty sure they'll take them back if you don't like them. I don't think you'll be disappointed. Good luck!

I absolutely love Costco brand diapers. I have been using them since my daughter was 6 months old and I have been really satisfied with them. They are super absorbent and fit my daughter really well. The only recommendation that I have is to not use the smallest size (1-2). They have a tendency to fit a little looser on smaller children so you may run into issues with leaks. Otherwise, I strongly recommend the Kirkland brand!!!

Hello,
Loved them and they were cheaper then the brand name diapers. I used them on both my babies and I liked them and they kept the "urine" inside instead of leaking out the side.

I loved the costco diapers and wipes. A woman on another message board I'm on said they are made by the same people who make huggies and that they are the same as huggies supreme. We used them for over a year and a half and were always happy with them. The only reason I'm not using them now is because we don't belong to costco and my son is hopefully almost out of diapers. As others stated, the wipes are great too!

We love, love, love the Kirkland diapers and wipes. Tried Pampers, Huggies, Luvs, and finally Kirklands - they are our favorite for fit, quality, and leak-stopping! :) (We also tried the BJ's store brand, Berkely and Johnson, hated those..)
Good Luck!

I tried them when my daughter was around 2 and she always had a red bottom and/or rash every time we used them. That was three years ago so they may have change them. I had other friends who used them with no problem. The best thing about Costco is that if you have a problem you can return them if your daughter has a reaction to them, even if the box is open.

They are made by Huggies for Costco and are exactly the same. I love them, they're all we use.
I also (slightly OT) HIGHLY recommend their wipes. I use them for cleaning, too. they're super strong.

My girlfriend LOVED them with her first and is using them for her 2nd-born Friday! Said they were the best- all the good attributes of other brands rolled up into one. I saw and felt them- soft and thick. Unfortunately, they came out in costco stores after we were done with diapers, but I still keep the kirkland babywipes on hand as they are great for road trips and camping (bath in a box!). Those are the absolute best. No weird smell, no burning,a substancial cloth- not glorified TP and in those soft pack- easy to pack. Worth every penny for the case. You cannot go qrong with thier Kirkland brand of just about anything- cleaning products are cool too!

I love Kirkland diapers and bummed that we do not have a Costco in this area. I love them so much that whenever my parents visit from Charlotte, I always have them bring me a box or two...depending on when the next time I would see them. I have also tried the Sam's Club brand and do not like them at all.

I used the Costco brand with my 1st daughter and now with my 2nd. I think they are comparable to Huggies, but cheaper cost. Honestly, I don't see much of a difference. I did buy the Rite Aid brand once and they were pretty cheap! It's great to buy 1 box and be set for a while. I also buy the Kirkland wipes. Each "set" is in a plastic containter, but has a pop top for easy access.
Every now and then Costco puts out a coupon for the Kirkland brand ($2-3 dollars off per box)

I've been using them for years on both a boy and girl with no problem. I like them. Recently I noticed that the Huggies at our Costco (potomac mills) are the same price as the Kirkland. we haven't had any leaks or uncomfortable rubbing, etc.
Also, as a previous poster mentioned, the wipes are great. I plan to keep buying after my kids are out of diapers. :)

I used the BJ's brand for my daughter and thought they were just fine. Costco is a bit of a drive for me, so I just went to BJ's. The only brand I didn't like was Luv's (I didn't care for the WalMart brand, though others swear by them). Just compare the price to the other diapers to make sure your are getting a deal.
I remember the disposable diapers from the 1970's, and anything made today is a vast improvement. The engineering is about the same for all of the diapers. My theory is that if the engineers who improve diapers were tasked with solving world hunger, they could do it in about two months. Then world peace would follow.

Hi,
I have not used this brand but I just started using the Sam's club brand and so far I am impressed. I have 5 children and have not been a fan of generic diapers or wipes but I thought I would give this one a try! I do believe most of these companies have a return policy on them if you are not happy with their product you can retunr them for a full refund. I have had to use this policy when I decided to try Wal-Marts brand white cloud diapers, they were awful!

Here is baby Cheapskate's review of them, note the comments at the bottom-- everyone seems to like them. They review all of the different diapers, and it is one of my favorite sites!
I like them, I'd compare them to Huggies. I've tried them all...I'm on my 4th baby. As long as your child doesn't have a picky bottom then your good to go with the Kirkland brand. Costco is pretty good with accepting things back if you find after a few that you dislike them.

I took a chance and bought those diapers several times. I think they are good as Huggies. They absorb the moisture. There are no leaks and he does not break out into a rash which sometimes that can happen. I give it two thumbs up.

we use them, and they work out just fine for our 14 month old boy. For us, the savings are really worth a leak here and there. But we really haven't had any issue with bad diapers... If we find he is going through a period of filling his diaper to capacity and spilling over during the night, then we will buy a smaller container of top brand diapers for secure fit just at night time. Then he'll go back to normal wear after a week or so.
Good luck!

I cannot vouch for the diapers personally, but a girlfriend of mine told me that they will send you samples of them at no charge. I can tell you that we love the Kirkland wipes, though. Aside from the Pampers Sensitive, they are our absolute favorite! We only buy the Pampers when we run out and cannot get right to Costco.

I was a costco member for a year and we purchased costco wipes, diapers, and formula. I loved the costco diapers to me they are like huggies. These diapers will hold a lot!!! I also loved their wipes they come in their own container of like 88 wipes per container. I see your daughter is 15mons so need about formula. I am now a sams member and dont like their diapers as they are for a "brick" baby. Hope this helps!

I did not like the Costco brand diapers or huggies. I prefered Pampers swaddlers and then cruisers. However, Pampers became too expensive. My son was/is a bigger boy. He's 3 and has to wear a diaper at night (pull ups arent' absorbant enough). The most absorbant and easy to fit diaper I found was the White Cloud Walmart brand. They are $15 a box for 64 diapers on the size 6's. I rarely have a leak, broken tabs or anything.

I totally agree about the wipes..they are great! Alcohol free and very mild but effective. We are Pampers users and we did give the Kirkland brand a try for a while when my son was about 4-6 months old, but we had many blow-outs and decided to return them. (Looking at your other responses, maybe we'll give them a try again now that he's 1 year old)We had used about 10 of the diapers, but they took them back, no hassle at all. They will take back ANYTHING that you try and don't like. Good luck! Enjoy this time at home with your baby!

We do use the Costco/Kirkland diapers and they work great for our daughter. It just depends on your babies size. We tried a few kinds and these fit her well. We do use Pampers for night time since they are a little more absorbant for over night.
But, good news for Costco, they will take them back if you try them and they don't fit.

I used to use Costco diapers. They were absorbent and soft, but I noticed my son was getting diaper rash often. After talking to another mom buying Huggies at Costco, she said her son got diaper rash so much more while using Kirkland brand than he does now with Huggies. That trip I tried the Huggies and he has not had nearly as much diaper rash. I will not use Costco diapers again. They worked great, but if you find your daughter with frequent diaper rash, I would switch.

I have never got them, however I have a membership to Costco's and I do not have bad thing to say about them, they have a excellent return policy although I am not sure if that applies to their diapers as well.
I used Kozy Kids and I have them shipped to me in bulk, they are the best diapers I have ever used. I love them, but I am sure Costco's are fine as well.

I tried this when my daughter was much younger, probably around 2 or 3 months and though they were terrible. For some reason they leaked - this happened enough with these diapers and not with others that I am convinced Costco diapers are inferior to other brands. I'm not sure if they would be better for an older baby or not.

Loved them! I used them for a little over a year, from when my daughter was one until she was potty trained. I think they are better than Huggies, and just as good as Pampers (they were my favorite, just too expensive when she got older).
Hope this helps!
