I am wanting to purchase a high chair or booster seat and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on a brand or a particular one to get. I'm looking for one that does not take up alot of space and is safe and affordable. Any and all suggestions are welcomed!

I too would recommend the Fisher Price Space Saver. Especially if you ever have a need to travel with it. My daughter (now 22 months) has been in it since day one and we've been very pleased. Great value for the price!

Hi J.. I personally like Graco. I know they can be expensive at times, but I look for the deals. I got my Graco high chair for $25 brand new from Wal-mart. Their mods were changeing and they were marking everything down like crazy. Plus Graco is up there rating wise. I have had no problems with any of my Graco baby stuff (stroller, car seat, high chair, Pack-n-play). =]

We love the one we got from One Step Ahead. It is adjustable for use for a long time and when its no longer needed as a high chair it converts to a chair for you to sit in.

I used a Fisher-Price Healthy Care high chair, before there were toys on it. I think there are 2 kinds now- one that's more convertible (I would go for this one if I needed a new one) and one that's got fancier toys. It was really easy to use, adjust, and clean, and it folds up if you need to tuck it somewhere when not in use.

I recommend the Fisher Price Healthy Care booster seat. It's about $25 at Target, Babies R Us, etc. We have a full-size highchair, but we left the booster seat in the car and used it at restaurants (before our sons fit very well in the wooden restaurant highchairs), friends' houses, and of course for visits to the grandparents. The seat back folds down so it's nice and compact for travel, and one of the chair straps can be used as a shoulder strap. We actually have two now--one that lives in the car still, and one in the house used as a booster seat now that our youngest is too big for the highchair. I've turned several people on to this chair, and some have used it as their only highchair. It's easy to clean, and everyone loves it. I do too--can you tell? :)

I have one of the space-saver high chairs and love it! I fits right into one of our dining room chairs, and when we need the chair for guests, we just take it right off and put it away. It is easy to attach and remove from the chair, and has a tray that fits on top. It also slides easily under the table so you don't have to use the tray if you don't want to. When we went on vacation, we just took it off and threw it right in the car, and it fit fine onto the chairs in our rental house. The chair is covered in vinyl and is easy to clean. It is also durable and has taken quite a beating from my now 17 mo old son. I highly recommend it!

Get one that is easy to clean! I made the mistake of not getting one that's easy to clean. I've heard some are made of just plastic, not cloth, if I could go back, I would do that.

Hey! I have the Fisher-Price Space Saver High Chair and I LOVE it. It straps right into your dining room chair, BUT the best part about it is that it reclines in 3 different positions, and it grows with the child so the upper back piece comes off and you can use it as a booster seat as well. I found it at Target, I also know they have them at Babies R Us. They are really inexpensive and grows with the child. Hope this helps!

My husband and I have four children and opted for the booster seat/high chair that attaches to the usual dining room chair. I placed a towel on the seat and the booster seat/high chair attaches two places via reinforced strap: (1) around the back (2) around the seat. This saved not only money, but the luxury of space and when the child outgrows the detachable tray, he/she can slide right up to the dining room table for meals. You can find these booster seats/high chairs at most retail stores.
Happy Shopping!!! A. B.

Because space is at a minimum in our house, we chose to get the Eddie Bauer booster seat. It attaches to the dining room chair and has 2 height settings. It also came with a tray. It is wood with a plastic seat cover. All the pieces come apart so you can do deep cleaning or it's just as easy to wipe it clean. I believe we bought it at Babies R Us. The chair is also easy enough to transport when traveling to the grandparents. We had originally tried a plastic one but it just felt too flimsy and switched to this one.

I purchased the Summer booster seat for my daughter and really like it. It has several hight positions (5 I think) so if you want to attach it to a chair (has straps that buckle behind and under the seat)it can be completely lowered so that it will fit easily under the table if needed. And if it's used as a portable high chair it can be raised as your child grows. It's all plastic, which I didn't like at first as it didn't seem like it would be that comfortable, but it is so easy to clean. The tray is dishwaser safe and the seat itself can just be put in the sink and washed off. The tray is too small for most of the cute children's plates but I have washed out and reused Kid's Cuisine trays and they fit perfectly on the booster's tray. The only thing I don't like is the way the seatbelt has to thread through little loops on the back part of the seat and then around the child. I don't bother with the seat belt because it's too time consuming but my daughter is over 2 now and really doesn't need it anyway. I think it's around $20 or $25 in the stores.

I have purchased 2 seats for my daughters to mainly use at church when we have lunch, but they work great on any chair that has at least some back to it. You can get them at Wal-mart and Target, they are Fischer Price and have two sets of straps with buckles to adjust to any size chair. They are really helpful and are $20 or less. My daughters are 1 year and 4 years old. I started using both of them when they were at least 6 months old. Even if your baby can't sit up well alone, the chair will help to support them. It has a tray and several different placements of it according to how big they are and a supportive back and sides. They are plastic and usually dishwasher safe for the trays only. Easy to clean. I highly recommend these! I think I'm the only one at church that uses them often because I'd rather not chase my oldest one around and just let her go. She eats well and I don't want to ruin that by letting her think it's playtime, ya know! Hope this helps! It has for me!

Hi, I am a stay at home mom of an 8 yr. old, when my child was little, I had a fold away booster seat. I think it came from target or a baby superstore. I would look on line. It would fasten to a chair and I could leave out, take it to resturant. Goodluck!

Try Fisher Price Space Saver high chair. You can find them at Target and I think Walmart. It does take up a chair, so whenever we have had company over we've had to be creative in our eating arrangements b/c we don't have enough chairs. What's also neat is that you can recline your little one initially and slowly straighten it out as he gets older. We used it with our little ones as soon as they had some head control with it recline, so he could sit at the table with us. And then as they get older you can take off the back and it becomes a booster seat. Only downside is you can not throw the cover in the washer machine. But we love ours! Hope that helps!

Walmart has the kind that you can strap to a chair. They have the starps and laptray like the bigger ones but takeup less space. I can't remember the brand name but I am pretty sure it was around 30 bucks.

I purchased a graco highchair that folds up flat (about five inches wide when folded). As long as you make sure you open it correctly (pull it until it locks open) it's a GREAT highchair. Easy to store, clean, and my son loves it. You also can adjust the height so they can be at the same height as you while you are eating at the table. It cost's $99.00 But it's well worth it and will last through many kids!
