Hey Mamas,
I am about to have my second lil boy in August and I am a single mom. I currently have a job that pays well but the hours are HORRIBLE and long and i miss so much time with my son now. I really want to find a job either from home or away that will be a normal 9-5 or something very flexible. I work till 7 or 8pm 3 out of 5 nights a week- and it's a 50hr week. It is really getting to me and being a single mom with soon to be TWO- i don't want to continue missing out on time with them. I make decent money- and i do get support from my son's father- however when i look into work at home jobs- they are all scam-like. Ideally i would like to know what companies/positions do some of you work at that have good insurance but allow you to still be there to be a good mom with your kids? If you do work at home- are you able to pay your bills and everything on just that? I have a Bachelor's degree in Communication, tons of sales experience, experience in Social Service, Advertising, Legal, etc... thanks for your help! I live on the NOrthwest side of Chicago- hoping ot move to Oak Park area when the next is born.

What can I do next?

Hey D.,

I work as an independent consultant for Arbonne International. It is a health and wellness organization in the arena of network marketing. I just recently got started and am doing pretty well. One of the girls who works on our team(and who is training me) was able to quit her full time job in Pharmaceutical Consulting because she was so successful with Arbonne(it took her about a year to get there)She is expecting her first little one, so she is thrilled about the flexibility and financial security she is experiencing. Let me know if this sounds like something you'd be interested in and I can tell you more about it!

all the best,
A.

I work at UIC and while every job is different, in general working for a University is great. The pay isn't the highest but the benefits are great (5 weeks of vacation) and the work environment is very pleasant. Oak Park is near by, too....

I second the advice from Karen: look for a university job. I work for a local univeristy and my office is very flexible and the hours are very manageable and flexible.

I am partnered with an amazing company that promotes wellness in all aspects of your life. I first got involved because my son has eczema and allergies, and I was sensitive to some of the products we were using, so I starting using their products because they are all non-toxic and natural and much safer for your home. It has made the world of difference, and I am spending less than I would on store-bought brands.

I have joined the business and the income is really amazing. The reputation of the the company and the quality of the products make my job easy, and the they have received awards from the Better Business Bureau. If you are looking for something either to replace your job or as part-time/supplemental income, or if you just want more information, give me a call at ###-###-#### or send me an email at ____@____.com
