I would investigate acid reflux. The throat feeling like there is soemthing in it is something similiar to what I remember my husbands talking abou t before he was diagnosed with it.

Okay here goes. I was wondering if any one has had this happen before but over the last month or two I have had a sore neck mainly on my left side. It just feels sore most of the time and I don't think I injured it. In the past when I thought I was just sleeping on it wrong I would try to change positions and then the soreness would go away after a few days. Well, along with that, my throat has felt like there is something stuck in it and my husband says I've been snoring at night. I don't see anything unusual when I look in the mirror down my throat other than my right tonsil is just a little bit enlarged. I haven't had a sore throat or a fever. I know it might be stress related, but this has never happened before. When I was in the doctor's last week he didn't seem concerned much about it, but he also didn't really do a physical exam either. I don't know if the neck issue and the throat issue are even related, but it is odd how it is happening all at once. Just wanted to know if anyone has any ideas or similar experiences. I hesitate to go back in to the doctor because I am not the type that goes in for every little ache and pain. I appreciate any feedback on the issues, thanks!

i had something similar too and turned out it was an infection - they gave me antibiotics that cleared it up right away. But I think I had swollen glands too.
They said if the antibiotics did not help, they would do an ultrasound.
It sounds like something a friend of mine had a few years ago. It turned out to be problems with her thyroid. If it is bothering you, you should go back to the doctor. That's what they're there for. Better safe than sorry. Good luck.
You may want to have your thyroid checked. Often when a thyroid is enlarged or has a mass on it, it will feel like something is in your throat. It's better to have it checked and rule anything out than to keep worrying about it and/or let something get worse. Good luck to you.
could be an infection.
I had a throat problem a few years ago that turned out was not a throat problem at all. I have thyroid issues and was afraid my thyroid was enlarging. I kept feeling like I had something in my throat and could not seem to swallow it. I went to my ENT Dr, and he took a look (scope goes down the nose to look at throat, esophagus etc). Turned out I was having an acid reflux problem. The entrance to my stomach was irritated, but I was feeling it in my throat. Nerves can be funny that way - the irritation is in one place, but sometimes you feel it somewhere else. An acid inhibitor took care of it within a week.
If your doctor cannot find anything wrong, ;perhaps this is an allergy symptom. Allergies can show up in various ways. AF
Hi L.,
Sorry to hear you have been feeling icky the past couple of months. As far as the neck pain goes, I would try buying a new pillow. I know when my neck hurts for more than a day or two, it is usually because my pillow has worn out. I would try that first since you said that when you change positions it feels better. For the sore throat, I usually use some Chloroseptic. It will help the pain, but if the pain does not go away completely in a week or two, I would call the doctor about it because it could be a sign of something serious. It could possibly be allergies too. I know my throat feels a little icky when my allergies are acting up for a while.
I hope you get to feeling better soon!
I hope you feel better soon. My friend had the same symptoms and she ended up being diagnosed with mono.
