T.:
You have my empathy on the ADHD treatments. I've been though many of them with my son. Recently, we've tried the new ADHD patch with our son. It is called Daytrana and it is manufactured by Shire. We started using this patch in December, you put it on first thing in the a.m. and it lasts for 9 hours. It is put on the skin (in the hip area) at the mg the doctor prescribes, then it needs to be removed after 9 hours and it will continue in the system for another 3 hours at reduced levels. We have notice significant difference in our son's concentration and behavior at school. He is now able to participate in class, complete his work, and not be a destraction to the teacher. He still has some problems with his ADHD. No medicine will completely cure him, but I would deffinitely recommend asking for a trial prescription from your doctor.
The only negative problem we've incurred was removing the patch from the backing. In our first batch about 4 of them would not detach. Also, another inconvenience is the adhesive backing will stick to the skin along the edges where the patch was attached. It does come off if you soak in a tub a bit, but at first it is not pleasant.
Good Luck
