Seeking an Infertility Specialist in DFW Area

I'm currently seeing an infertility specialist for recurrent miscarriage (I have had 5 in the last 2 years). The next step the doctor is suggesting is a newer type of invitro. We would like a second opinion before spending the money on IVF and having it end in another miscarriage. Does anyone know a great infertility specialist/reproductive endocrinologist around the DFW area?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thank you so much for all of your replies! We are currently seeing Dr. Kaufmann in FTW and have decided to use him for IVF with PGD. We are very confident in him and have a great experience everytime we have been to his office. We just weren't sure if we were ready to move forward with the IVF process, but after an hour long consultation with him, all of our questions were answered and it sounds like the best solution! Thanks again!

I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Lowell Ku at Dallas IVF. www.dallasivf.com. He was wonderful. We tried for 3 years with no success. One month of his therapy and we were pregnant. We plan to return in January to try for #2. The staff is excellent and the prices were very affordable. The name is Dallas IVF, but they are actually located in Frisco!

Good Luck!!!

Dr. Robert Kauffman (sp) he is in FW, but about four years ago there was a story on the news about this mommy who kept miscarrying despite help from specialists and he had the knowledge and technology to help her and her husband. Very informative - they used the pre-implantation genetic screening due to her body basically attacking the embryo if not a certain make up. . . . it was facinating, but over my head. So I may not be giving due justice here.
Best of luck with your search.

I have two freinds who rave about The Center for Assisted Reproduction. They both see Dr Doody. One sees Kevin Doody and the other saw his wife. http://www.embryo.net/

BTW..these two friends don't know each other it's just a weird coincidence.

we used dr brian barnett. really liked him a LOT! he was very thorough and explained things very well. i have heard good things as far as success rate with the doody's - but i was told(by more than one physician) that the process is more of a "cattle call" rather than very personal. i can't confirm or deny that - but one of my physicians was a patient of the doody's, and she liked them, and the late evening and weekend hours were great for her, but she did not feel any great personal connection, more as though she was "just a number". at the end of the day, your eye is on the prize(the baby), but i do prefer a more personal relationship with my physicians, especially when things don't go as planned.... good luck!!!!

Did they try anything else, or have you had 5 early misscarriages with no preventative measures? My body does not produce enough progesterone at the beginning of a pregnancy, so I have had to take progesterone (Prometrium) for the first 12 weeks of pregnancy and then the placenta takes over production of progesterone to support the pregnancy. I have had 3 misscarriages when not taking progesterone and 1 misscarriage because I didn't know I was pregnant and started it too late. I have had 3 healthy children and a 4th due in August, so it definitely helped in my situation. If you have already tried that route, then something else is going on and the more invasive procedures would be suggested. I hope you get your baby, I know how hard it is to go through the losses. Hugs to you!
