My daughter is turning 2 in october and i want to do some type of crafts. I know i am going to get someone to do face painting. What activities can the kids do that would be inexpensive?

What can I do next?

We used to make "candy neclaces" Using fruit loops andthe long licorice strings. This is a perfect eye-hand coordination craft too!! Though 2 year olds may need some help!

Depending on your theme, the kids can make masks using paper plates. You can cut out designs and have the kids use paint (outside would not make big for clean up, and if they are in swim suits, even better! Just hose them off!)

Some type of treasure hunt. You can get little trinkets, bubbles, stickers or tatoos, rings, little gagets or something to hide around your yard. The kids can decorate their "treasure chest" and go find treasure.

Also, a neat cake idea is to make "dirt cake" using chocolate cake and pudding, put candy worms coming out of it. You can serve it in little tera cota pots ($ at the dollar store or Hobby Lobby)

The internet has a bunch of cool ideas depending on the theme you are having.

Have fun!
I love summer parties!!

We went to a 2 yo birthday party earlier this year where the parents just set up a table with paper, stickers, markers, crayons, etc. All kinds of stuff. And let the kids draw & create if they wanted to. They also had bubbles to blow. And I forget if there was anything else. I LOVED this and plan to do something similar sometime in the future.

You could get a small pumpkin for each child and set up a table with paint, glue, glitter and crafts and let the kids each decorate their pumpkin as their favor. You could do "pin the face on the jackolantern" and have a giant pumpkin painted or drawn on poster board and then have eyes, mouth and nose kids can attach to the pumpkin (with velcro) blindfolded.

My Godson's birthday is in October and they had a great pumpkin hunt. They used pumpkins that were a lot like plastic easter eggs and filled them with fruit snacks, stickers, and quarters. The kids loved it.

I love the idea of decorating their own small pumpkins, and last year my 2 year old son enjoyed doing that at one of the autumn festivals we were at. He just colored it with markers, and I smeared glue on it and let him throw glitter on it.
Another thing I saw at a 2 year old party last year was those little flower pots: there were different paints and stuff set up and the kids decorated their own pot and planted a little daisy in their pot. I thought this was the cutest idea, but my son didn't care about it. I don't know if it was slightly over his age (JUST turned 2 at the time), or if he just wasn't interested in painting back then.
