My daughter is in need of some new leotards. We have set a limit of around $30 give or take a few dollars. We have looked almost everywhere online, but all that comes up is Dance Solutions which don't have very good prices or leos. We don't have any gymnastic or dance stores in the area so we have to order online. Thanks for any advice you have!

I know dance teachers and friends who all buy from www.discountdance.com; I think they may also sell gymnastics gear.
I would check with your daughter's gymnastics coach; can gymnasts wear the same leotards as dancers or not? I would think gymnastics leotards might be cut differently or made from different materials.
Target had some (probably still do) for less than $20 :)
Have you tried your local children's consignment shops? I get all my daughters practice leos there. Ive also found a few on Ebay before for cheap.
Try ReNew in Libertyville or Repeat Street in Gurnee. ReNew usually has a bunch of "sporting goods". I just bought my daughter a black leotard at Repeat Street yesterday!
I work in the clothing store inside a dance studio. Most brands have lower priced leotards that can be ordered. I am going to give you links to most of the general ones we sell.
Some of them will be mostly around $30-$40 each but these are usually high quality that will last for years. Some of the GK brand ones that my granddaughter is wearing have gone through 4-5 kids already and still look new. I often find ones at consignment stores too.
Most of the leotards in our store are $34.95 but we do have some that are $19.95 and they seriously look it. They are thinner fabric and the cute little details are cheaply made and fall apart after they have only been worn a few times.
I will tell you that if you actually ever go to a store to look at leos you will find withing one size of leotards up to 6 inches difference in the length. I have some Princess Aurora ones then right next to it will one that is 6 inches longer so make sure where ever you order from that they will accept returns.

This company has lots of options. They have good quality items and they last and last. We have had many of these in the store and they do sell well.
Princess Aurora runs really small to me. I haven't seen one that wasn't inches shorter than the one next to it. They are very very very cute and girly on too.

Trendy Trends and Funky Diva are the same company now. They do offer a lot of the more updated looks similar to the clothes worn on Dance Moms. They are pretty cute on too. They may be a bit more costly but some of them are reasonable. Inside the finky diva site is Duck Crossings, they are mostly little bitty girl leos.

At least 40% of all our leotards are GK brand. They are what the girls were for the dance classes and the show team for the gymnastics part also almost always wear GK. Several Olympic Gold Medalist have their own lines within the GK brand. Of course that means more cost.

Eurotard is a wonderful brand. I have lots of their items in the store. We sell their sweater shrugs, leg warmers, leo's, hosiery, hair accessories, pants, just about everything they sell we have in store.

Pizzazz is fun and is easy to wear. I let my granddaughter wear a lot more of the two piece outfits now since she is mostly just getting taller. She does NOT wear a belly shirt, she will always have a top that cover her up. She does however wear these style out fits much longer since they are split across the waist, as she gets taller the top just gets a little shorter. When her belly starts to show too much they get handed down to some other little girl in the studio. I try to find someone that might like to have them. I just say Hey, could you use a couple of XX's outfits that I am getting rid of? and they almost always say yes.
Here's their catalog link:

We have this top and she wears it with a boy cut brief.

The boy cut brief is tight fitting and does not show anything worn underneath. The shorts always need a pair of cheer tights under them because the legs will gap open. So the briefs take care of that.

We also have this outfit in the purple.

Snowflake is our most expensive brand so I just have to show you a couple of them. I don't even buy them but I love to just look at them.
This peace sign one is a great seller and is so fun. I love the biketard aspect of it. No underwear showing at all and no need for shorts to cover up.

My granddaughter has this one and she can wear any of her v-front shorts with it.

This black shiny with the lighter pink butterfly is absolutely stunning. We sell it for $54 I think but it is soooo beautiful.

We sell these shorts in just about every color and the girls will even wear a tight fitting tank top for gymnastics. Or a coordinating top like the ones I've shown above. They are very basic and last a long time too.
The point I guess I am trying to make that once you start going towards the 2 piece outfits is that you can buy a few pairs of the shorts in basic colors then do what ever tops you want to mix and match. It makes the "wardrobe" seem to be a lot more.
I hope you can find some leos or some outfits that will suit your needs. I know this is a lot of information but I just love so many different brands and styles....
jc penneys, toys r us, sears, target and my own favorite if your girl is young is the thrift store. you can get them for $2 or $3 each. And just wash them (I always spray the bottom inside with some spray and wash also) but when we are talking under 10 years old they grow so fast you can't keep up.
Before you put out $30 I would check local thrift stores.
When I was unsuccessful there, I bought them from a store here called "Gabriel Brothers". It sells last year's model or seconds. I found Target's prior year one for $6.99 there. If you don't have a store like that try TJ Maxx or Marshalls or a similar store.
Otherwise Walmart and Target sells leotards.
