I am looking for a good Family Doctor or Internal Medicine Physician to check general health and thyroid. I read about Dr. Joseph Kenington in St. John's Mercy, any of you know him?
About the OB/GYN, I know you all have received lots of request about it, but I need an OB/GYN who focuses on older moms. I mean over 45. I am not planning to have more children, and I need to take care of that, and, you know things of this age.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I have heard about Dr George Ahlering, Muckerman, and Jeffrey Thompson. Any of you know more about these physicians?
Thank you so much for any response you have for me.

I've seen Dr Jeff Mormol for almost 10 years now for my OB/GYN issues. He's part of a praactice called Specialists in OB/GYN. He's amazing. He tended to my m/c's before/after my kids (i've had several)...he delivered both of my kiddos, who are now 6 & 8. He also did my tubal and ablasion last Sept. He's got an awesome bedside manner and is very knowledgable...(which suddenly i feel dumb b/c i can't spell. LOL) He's located at Ballas/Stuit Rd in Creve Coeur MO. ###-###-####
Dr Shari Cohen in my internist. I've seen her for 9 years...referred by Dr Mormol. She's amazing. Once my kids are out of "pediatric" age, they'll see her. She's also in Creve Coeur off Ballas. ###-###-####. I'm not sure if she's taking new patients but she has SEVERAL great Drs w/ her in the practice and her NP is C. Pickering. I request to see her if Shari isn't avail and I need an immediate appt.
Good luck finding the right one for you.

I have to agree with Mom H. Mary A. Morley at St Lukes is a great OB. I'm 40 and just had my first baby. I've moved around a lot and have had many OB's over the course of my life, and Dr Morley is the best OB I've had. If for some reason she doesn't feel comfortable dealing with an issue that you have, she will recommend another doctor that has that specialty. All of her recommendations have been excellent doctors as well.

Donald Schnurpfeil has been my doctor for the past 14 years and he is superb! He has been in St. Louis' Top 100 doctors and is really committed to listening to your needs and addressing them thoroughly. (I, too, have thyroid problems.)He is one of St. Louis' best kept secrets. His office is in Ellisville/Ballwin area. Ironically, Joseph Kennington was my doctor before him and I don't really remember anything bad about him either.
Jeffrey Thompson became my OB/GYN when my doctor suddenly passed away from a heart attack. Dr. Thompson has a wonderful bedside and he is a part of a great practice. Becky Shelton is my OB/GYN now. She may appear a little distant upon your first meeting, but she is very thorough and compassionate.
You can call any of the area hospitals and tell them what your needs are and I believe they all have physician referrals. Good luck with your search!

I like my primary care physician and love my OB/gyn. My primary is Steven Livingstone###-###-####) and my OB is Igor Brondz ###-###-####). They both have their offices in St. Charles. I don't know any of the names you mentioned, but I know there are many more doctors around than I could ever keep up with. A friend of mine, 40 yrs who has high blood pressure and just had her 3rd child and plans to keep it her last, loves her OB too. Sarah Shores ###-###-####). She's out of St. John's.
Hope that helps!

Scott Biest at Missouri Baptist is WONDERFUL!!! When I was searching for an OB/GYN a few years ago I asked some coworkers and two blurted out at the same time "Scott Biest!" I thought that must have been a sign so I went with it. I was definately not disappointed. He made me feel very comfortable and always gave me his undivided attention. He even helped to change my bedding while in the delivery room!! My mom (a nurse) says doctors NEVER do that!! lol I'm not sure if he specializes in older women but it is definately worth the call! Good luck!

Joseph Kennington used to be my doctor, and I found him not very personable so I switched to Dr. Kenneth Smith. They are in West County off woodsmill.

OBGYN....Dr. Carlos Maitz.
He's really good, has a mother and wife that are both 'older'.
My next door neighbor (in her 70's) and my mother in law (60's) both have the same OB.
