Does anyone have or know of a pediatrician in the Fox Valley area (or close surrounding communities) that is open to a delayed vaccination schedule AND has the singular shots available at their office?

Our current pediatrician with Dreyer only offers a singular shot with multiple vaccinations in them.

Thanks,
R.

I go to Fox Valley woman and Childrens practice, in St Charles/Elburn, I am not sure if they delay vaccines, but Dr Regnier is pretty open to the parents wishes. I also have a baby that is going to be 4 mos old, and I was going to ask him to delay ours too. I

Apple-A-Day Pediatrics in Oswego. New, clean office and friendly staff too. They do individual vacs and are very helpful with advice regarding your personal choices with vacs, as well

We really like Dr. Severino at Cornerstone medical in Wheaton/Warrenville off Butterfield Rd and just east of Winfield Rd. He has worked with us on vaccinations. We waited until our first was 1 year and did one shot a month. We didn't check into single shots as far at MMR, etc. With our second and third little ones we are doing shots at 6 months, either two shots at a time or one shot if there are multiple things in it. The number at Cornerstone is ###-###-####.

I don't have a ped. in the Fox Valley area to recommend (we kept ours in Westchester after moving way out here...Yorkville), but we did delayed vaccinations by virtue of not scheduling them until we felt there had been enough time in between AND we only allowed one shot per visit.

Can't your current doc. order the single dose shots for you?

We were pushed at times to move up their schedule, or do a combination in a visit, but as long as they're all done before public school, there's no rush. You can also avoid the chicken pox vac. on religious grounds because it contains animal embryonic cells. Since starting the chicken pox vac., teens and young adults have started getting shingles. It's usually something seen in late aged adults due to a weakening in their defense system, but now everyone is getting injected with the virus and is thus susceptible to Shingles, and now they're trying to come up with a vac for shingles.....it will never stop.

I know some people are adamant about getting the vac because they had really bad chicken pox as a child and have scars from it - so it's good that it is available. I'm just letting you know that it isn't absolutely mandatory and there are known issues with it.

Yes. We go to Dr. Susan Sankari/Twenty First Century Pediatrics. It is in Naperville on Washington (near Edwards hospital). The phone number is ###-###-####.
I did not get any shots for either of my girls until they were 7 months old. Then I got two shots at a time. She basically let me write my own schedule. She ordered the MMR all separately for me too. The only shot that is not separated is the DTaP. But all of her other shots are the single dose vials. She tells me what she would advise without pressuring me. She does not have the absolutely perfect bedside manner, but she does love kids (she has 4 of her own), is caring, and she does a good job. Hope that helps.
