Seeking Fun Restaurant for 15 Year Old Girl's B'day

My daughter turns 15 this Tuesday and I wanted to take her somewhere like Hard Rock or Planet Hollywood but since they are no longer open, I am looking for alternatives. Money is an issue to a degree - something fun with good food that will make a big deal of her b'day. We are in east Dallas.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

I want to thank each and every one of you. It was a hard decision for her. We went to the Studio Movie Grill to see Mama Mia (great place and food but service not as good) - she loved it...then off to the Cheesecake Factory for dessert. She said it was the best b'day ever! We will go to the Magic Time Machine at some point but the distance was a factor on that one. Thanks again....she has faced a lot in her short life and really deserved a terrific day which she got thanks to all you mamas!

Have you considered The Magic Time Machine. It's in Addison off of Beltline and it's a very popular place for Teens before dances. The waiters and waitresses dress up like characters from movies, cartoons, and comic books. It's pretty fun and the price is about the same as Hard Rock.

I like Magic Time Machine but a 15 year old may think it's not cool enough. I also like the idea of Simply Fondue and Cheesecake Factory. One recommendation that you haven't gotten yet is Dick's Last Resort near Victory Park/Downtown. It's fun because their "theme" is being mean/insulting (in a fun way) to their guests. Pretty funny sometimes. I'm not positive if it's age appropriate for 15 year olds but I'm pretty sure it is. Also, you could go for dinner at the House of Blues, which is next door to Dick's. Afterwards, you and the girls could walk around Victory Plaza.

I can see that there are alot of people suggesting The Magic Time Machine. It is a great and fun restaurant. Take a look at The Purple Cow and do a Google search for Dallas' many Murder Mystery dinner theater's as well.

I would take her to the Magic Time Machine (where the wait staff dresses up like different characters). We just took my son for his 18th birthday and they had a ball. We have been there several times and have always had a good time. Also, in the Grapevine Mills Mall is the Rainforest Cafe. (Jungle atmosphere, Mechanical Animals). We took our 14 year old daughter there for her 14th birthday this year. It is a little bit of a drive but worth it. Or a little closer to home is Joe's Crab Shack in Mesquite.

Magic Time Machine or Dave and Busters. Even Cheesecake Factory would be good.

Our favorite place is the Magic Time Machine in Addison. Their menu is online...so you can see if this is in your budget or not. On certain days they have strolling magicians, balloon artists, etc. All the waiters are in the costume, so you might get waited on by Captain Jack, Little Bo Peep, or Superman. It's lots of fun.

You could also go to Studio Movie Grill - see a movie while eating out.

Rainforest Cafe at Grapevine Mills (again, $$)

If you go to Joe's Crab Shack, for your birthday they make you stand up on top of the table while the restaurant sings to you.

Speghetti Warehouse in the west end used to make a big production of the waiters coming out to you - don't know if they do anymore.

I'm not sure if it is open or not, but Reunion Tower (it has been closed for remodeling) is really fun, and if you go for lunch the prices aren't too bad. Fun to be up which with such a great view!

Good luck!
