I am looking for some fun, ongoing things to do near the downtown Salt Lake City area for myself and my 7-year-old son. He loves computers and animals. We're on a limited budget (aren't we all!).

What can I do next?

Utah Museum of Natural History has a fabulous frog exhibit right now. Contrary to what my husband said, you can take your camera. Some great photos opps right now.
Utah Museum of Fine Arts is fun and free the first Wednesday of the month. Check out the libraries. They often have activities for free, make and take, books clubs, etc. Utah State History Museaum. Take a ride on frontrummer to Ogden, then go to the railroad museaum and hop back on the frontrunner to come home. Take a tour of the governers mansion, the salt lake county building or the capital building. Gardner Historic Village is always fun. Wheeler Historic Farm is free with a minimal charge if you want to go through the house or on a hay ride or a pony ride. Go through Chase mill at Liberty park-may have to make reservations for that one. The Joseph Smith memorial building is beautiful and free to tour. Antelope Island is one place we go every year. They used to charge by vehicle but not sure if they still do. Farmington Bay Water Fowl Management area was fun. Tracy Aviary is always a hit.
