I think both of my children have a gluten intolerance so I am looking for a gluten free grocery store in Euless or surrounding areas. I'm not picky about how far I have to drive as long as it is in the DFW area.I have searched online with no luck. Any sugestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

So What Happened?

I tried the one on Glade Rd. I never thought about health food being so expensive. I just decided to get him tested for a gluten intolerance and then decide if I should take him off glutens.

I loved the Flower Mound Specialty Store recommended in another post. Not only did they have many items, the staff was very well informed. I'm still searching for a good bread... the Kininick brown rice bread wasn't to my son's liking, but I liked it. The pancake mix and the waffles at the store was great though!

Hi K.:

My father has a celiac disease (which means he has a gluten intolerance). He has to shop for and eat gluten-free foods. While he has not found a "gluten-free" grocery store, you can find some gluten-free groceries in the freezer section in natural/organic area and pantry section in natural/organic area. Another place is Natural food stores but they tend to be pricey. My dad has just made adjustments and does not eat pasta or bread. He can eat rice & potatoes of course. Good luck.

There is a store on Glade & 121, as you head North exit the freeway at Glade and turn left to head under it. Go Straight, Target will be visible on the left, but head into the strip mall on your right. Continue heading around that strip mall and the parking lots are connected. It carries the best selection of gluten-free products in the area. The name is Healthy Approach. Good Luck! S.

Healthy Approach market is a good place to go. They have an aisle devoted to gluten free.

Another place to check with is FM Specialty Foods in Flower Mound. Mary, the owner, lives a gluten free life. She would be a wonderful resource for you. Her number is ###-###-####. You can check her website: www.fmspecialtyfoods.com

There are several online companies you can order from. The shipping is extremely expensive.

Good luck!

Hi, the Health Food store at the intersection of I-20 and Little Rd. in Arlington has an entire section devoted to gluten-free items. Also, you can find a lot of stuff at Whole Foods. The only one in Arlington is at Lamar & Collins just north of I-30. I know there are a couple more Whole Foods in the metroplex, but that is the closest one to me. Have you tried your local health food store? They may be similar to the one I mentioned first. My husband has wheat and corn allergies, so I've been dealing with this for about 8 years. I think an allergy to those two things is pretty much a gluten allergy. If you need ideas for recipes, let me know. I'm in a rut, cooking-wise, but at least my husband won't get sick! :0) Hope this helps!

Healthy Apporach is great, they also have a support group that meets there for celiac disease /gluten intolerance. Ask them for details.

Did you look at the Healthy Approach market? It's at 121 and Glade. I bet they'd have a good selection of gluten-free items. Also, Market Street in Colleyville off 26 and Hall Johnson has a lot of special diet products, including gluten-free. Some are in the baking section (gluten-free cake mixes) and some are in the bulk foods section.
