I *love* Jorie, who cuts my hair at Asha Salon in Bucktown. She's great - I just walk in and she does her thing to make my hair look amazing. Worth every penny.
Okay, so I watched an episode of Oprah from last week that friends told me to watch. It was about "Schlumpadinkas"...or stay at home moms who always wear sweats or jeans and a sweatshirt, etc. Anyway, they all were made over and their haircuts were really great!! Of course, some "hair stylist to the stars" from CA cut their hair, but I was hoping for some great recommendations from you guys! I do not have any style now...probably why I needed to watch the show...so I need someone that is good at a brand new style. So, if someone had found that "diamond in the rough" salon or person that you just LOVE because they have new ideas and are trendy(I think that is what I need) please let me know!
Thanks

Not sure where you live but I swear by my girl... Marijo at Kiva Salon in Macy's on State. I have been going to her for 8+ years and she truly gives the best cuts!
This may be a drive for you, but I LOVE LOVE LOVE my stylist. She is great with any type of cut you are looking for. The best part for me is the fact that she knows what will look best on you. She'll tell you if a picture you bring in won't work for your face or body. She's right on every time. I like that she knows her stuff and is not afraid to share it. I've had a good hair cut and color every time I've gone. I've been going for 4 years. I've had short hair, medium hair and long. So she's cut it all.
If you are interested her name is Christina. She works at Michael Todd Salon in Naperville and Oswego (They have two locations). She a little spendy so it all depends on what kind of money you are willing to pay. You can find their number on line.
Good luck and hope you find a good stylist that will give you a great hair cut (smile)!

I realize this is probably way too far for you but I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my hairdresser. She is at Czar salon in Naperville. Her name is Yvette. She is able to give me cute/trendy haircuts while keeping in mind that I am a mom and don't have tons of time to do my hair.
I just want to say in my book you get kudos just for being dressed by lunch with 5 young kids!!

LeAnn at Lisa Thomas Salon in Orland Park (147th & 80th or 82nd ave), not the Tinley Park local. But if you go to her make sure you tell her I sent you. She is great, will tell you how it is, but also consider what you want. LOVE HER. I have very thick hair and she does a great job with it. I have all my friends going to her now.
