My daughter goes to the YMCA in Raytown it is a preschool and I love it there. The teachers are all great. She has been going there for a year and 3 months now and really enjoys it. I was insistent upon it being a safe and secure environment as well as being a preschool. It took me a year to find a preschool in our area I would even consider. The only other one I considered was the church across the street. The Richard C. Green YMCA Preschool phone number is ###-###-####. Hope this works for you. Feel free to send me a message if you want more info. Good luck!

I started my two youngest boys in preschool at Our Lady of Lourdes at Blue Ridge and Gregory after we moved to Raytown. I was very particular about where to send them as I wanted structure but time for them to be kids as well. My middle is now 6 and started kindergarten this year. We originally had him in Southwood but just changed him back to Lourdes. The school is wonderful and the teachers are so incredible. I found that we don't pay any more for the preschool tuition and aftercare than others pay for a full time daycare. I really encourage you to call and speak to Steve Messerschmidt (we call him Mr. Mess) who is the principal and even take a tour of the school. Their phone number is ###-###-####. Lourdes is also a faith based school but I was open with them about the fact that my family doesn't attend a catholic church. They have always welcomed me and they really encourage parents to be active and involved in the education of the kids.

Both of the high schools in Raytown do a preschool. It is 3 days a week in the morning and only runs for part of the school year. They do something like 6 weeks in the fall and 6 weeks in the spring. It is part of the high school's child development class. I have known lots of people who have used it and they love it. It is only like $60 for the semester. They do have a limited number of openings so you have to get in early. The next semester that you can get into won't start until October but if you aren't in a hurry, this is a great program. I recommend calling to get on the list as soon as school starts in the fall.

most school districts have free preschool the year before they start school. You might want to call and see if they have a pre-k program. If she just turned 4 she may have to wait until the next school year starts.

Hi, C.!
It depends on what type of Preschool you'd like. I have two daughters that attend Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School in Raytown, MO. My oldest will graduate this year from 8th grade and my youngest is in 4th. They have and EXCELLENT preschool program that is great. I had my youngest in public preschool at two different schools but nothing taught her more than this school. Since that first day we haven't looked back. Both of my girls are on the A honor roll and they are thriving and happy! Classes are small but, since the preschool is so great, their classes are around 30.
If anything, call Steve Messerschmidt at ###-###-####. He's the Principle of Our Lady of Lourdes. It's always worth a try!

Just wanted to mention the Little Learners Program at First Baptist Church in Raytown. I live in Blue Springs and when my son was preschool age Raytown was too far for me and I work part time and needed before and after care, which they do not provide. Most of my friends have or had their kids in the program though and loved it. Check out the church website at www.firstbaptistraytown.com and click on the schools link and then Little Learner. Hope this helps!
