I love The Little Gym even for older kids. Yes, they do have a great toddler program, but they also have a gymnsatics program for grade school age kids.
Hi Mamas. I'm looking to get my 6 year old daughter in some kind of after school program. I was thinking gymnastics but have checked into and it cost around $170 a month! I'm wondering if anyone knows of a more inexpensive route out in the East Valley?

Try funastics on Gilbert, near Guadalupe.
Their inexpensive from what I've seen and they are non-competitive, no pressure gymnatics. You can check them out at gilbertgymnastics.com
Have you tried Gilbert Parks and Rec.?

You definitely need to check out Angela's Flip Zone! They have a website- angelasflipzone.com and are located at power and baseline. Their prices are definitely competitive and affordable, but their teaches are the best! They go all the way from mommy and me to level 4 tumbling. It's a really friendly environment too! My girls both tumble there and love it! They also offer dance!
Hi K.. Swim Kids on Guadalupe and the 101 has a gymnastics program. I think it only costs $65/month.
Have you checked out Parks and Recreation? I used to teach dance to 3-5 year olds, and at that age they aren't going to grasp a ton of technique so where they go isn't crucial. There people who don't start dancing until they are in their early teens and catch up quickly to people who have been dancing their whole lives, and I'm sure the same is true for gymnastics. It isn't until they get about 10 or older that it actually makes a difference where they get their training in my opinion.
I have my kids at Kids Fitness Center which is on Ray and Gilbert. They LOVE it and all the instructors are awesome too!
The Flip Zone...great tumbling/dance classes and very reasonable. www.angelasflipzone.com located at Power/Baseline
Check the city of mesa web site...they offer them for a TON cheaper!!!!
My daughter has done gymnastics at the YMCA program in Tempe. We started through the MEsa YMCA where it is free if you are a member, but then we moved to Tempe where they have their own gymnastics gym with all the major equipment. She has made tons of progress, and it's a very supportive program. They are planning to do some competitions this year, but overall, it's not a competitive gym like the big ones - her coach calls it recreational gymnastics. We lived in Mesa so when gas got so expensive, I looked around to see if I could compensate for a higher fee with what I would save in gas money, but I couldn't. They have many levels - we started out once a week for an hour and eventually moved to three hours on two days a week.
Good Luck!
P.S. She started when she was five, she is now about to turn 7.
