Dr. Janet Perlman with Bayside Medical Group is fantastic. Neither of my 2 children are vaccinated. Good Luck.
My son (7 weeks old) is currently with a practice that is very strict with immunizations - they require you immunize with all vaccines and will not provide service if not all of them are administered (East Bay Pediatrics). I'd like to switch to a clinic/pediatrician that is more flexible and would allow me to make choices, encourage dialogue, and is of similar view. I am not convinced my child needs all the vaccines recommended. Any good recommendations for Berkeley, Emeryville area, or beyond? We have United Healthcare PPO.

Janet Perlman in Berkeley has lots of her kids on a custom immunization schedule. She is at Bayside Medical Group, 2915 Telegraph Ave.
Hello,
have you tried Pediatric Alternatives in Mill Valley (Marin County)? Their phone number is ###-###-####. You do have to become a member of their practice but it is well worth it. They have a naturopath on staff in addition to three M.D.s, and they also have many educational resources and seminars. I highly recommend this practice. Good luck!
You could check out WholeChild Wellness Center and Dr. Elisa Song. She is amazing. her practice is in Belmont and she is extremely open minded...though she does not take insurance. But will give you solid help.
good luck.

Hi,
With my first son we had a great pediatrician at Bayside Pediatrics named Dr. Gerwein, she and the practice are flexible about immunizations (while still giving good information as to which ones they'd highly recommend vs. which ones you could logically hold off on).
They have offices in Oakland and Berkeley, don't know the number offhand.
Good luck!

Our pediatrician is very open and fllexible. Her name is Janet Perlman and she's with Bayside Medical Group. They have offices in Berkeley and Oakland. Their website is http://www.baysidemed.com/. Although the Berkeley office is closer to us, I vastly prefer their Oakland office, as the Berkeley one is small and crowded and a few years ago I found the staff unpleasant. The Oakland office is spacious and the staff are great.
We use Berkeley Pediatrics. The want the kids to be immunized, but have been fine with my not immunizing my son.
I hate that docs think that immunizations are the best or only way. Good luck to you and I'd love to know how it goes for you.
Try Dr. Newman with Bay Area Pediatrics in San Carlos. He still believes immunizations are important but is open for discussion.
Pediatric Alternatives is located in Mill Valley. They are holistically minded and are open to not vaccinating at all to vaccinating fully and anything in between. Their standard protocol is to only administer ONE vaccine per visit, to identify bad reactions should there be one.
There is a waiting list now, but you could call anyway.

Hi there. I also believe in a deviated immunization schedule and my pediatrician has been wonderful about it. She's very supportive of individual family decisions. Her name is Jenna Sieff and you can find her at Bayside Pediatrics. The office is at Ashby and Telegraph. I've attached a link to her bio below. You should also be able to find information like phone number etc.... Good luck!
