I would like to know where the best place to go to get fitted for a bra that is decently priced. I am on Social Security and so the cost is also imortant.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

I am going to make an appointment at JC Penny, and after I am fitted, they may give me a good deal on the bra if I tell them I am starting to get properly fitted for my college graduation ceremony. I also need to start looking for a nice dress. Thank you to everyone for all your help. C.

Dillards has great bra fitters and good reasonable priced bras! You don't have to buy the bra from them either just because they fit you so if the prices are too high for you you can get a good fitting but buy the bra somewhere else.

Nordstrom does a great job with their fittings...their prices are ok. I know it's kind of sneaky and definitely not illegal, but you ARE on a budget, so you could go get fitted, buy one (just to not look like a total jerk), then return it later, and just get the size you need elsewhere. Just a thought.

FYI, my friend had a horrible experience at Dillards. Both her and her mom were horribly fit and their bras were falling apart just about 6 weeks later because of the horrible fit. They didn't realize how bad their bras fit until they watched Oprah's show about it.

I know cost is important, it is to me as well since my husband is currently unemployed. But... I have found over the years that I am better off to buy one expensive $40 professionally fitted bra than five off the clearence rack at Target or Ross even if they say the same size. I just wash my one good bra by hand in the sink nightly and hang it up. Then I know (and own) what really fits me and looks good. If I am lucky, once I know the brand, style number and size I can find the same bra on that clearence rack at the department stores in last season's color. I keep the info (especially style number) on a card in my purse for when I'm out. Good luck

Hi! I would go V. Secret at Supersition Mall and get fitted there. They we be the best in giving you an accurate bra size since thats their business is to sell bras and other things. Once you get your info does not mean you need to try on any of their bras. Just say your looking and then leave. We all have done things like that once in our life time. I would also say go to Marshalls, TJ Max and Ross. Yes! You are on a budget and these are the places to go. My mom has been shopping at Marshalls since I was in 5th grade and I am now 42 so I know its a sure thing to shop there. I go there for my family too. They have name brands for half the price. My mom is now 81 and still loves to shop at these stores. She won't even step into a department store because she knows that she can find it cheaper at Marshalls or the other stores.
Good luck!

I was fitted once at JC Penney for free, and I think Macy's does bra fittings too.

C.,
You might try JcPenney's or maybe Sears. I think I went to Penney's and they measured me. I believe I paid $30-$40 for a bra, even though there might be some that are cheaper. It is better than Victoria Secrets that start at $50.00! (But, I hear they are good!)
Good luck,

Nordstrom does custom fittings. Go there and see what they come up. Yes they are expensive, but they can help you with the correct size and brand. (god naturally blessed me with a 36 FF) so i know my bras! Once you have that identified, you can keep an eye out at the Nordstrom Rack. I just boughta bra at the Rack for $23.00. it was $84.00 at Nordstrom. If you wear a size below a DDD, Fredricks of hollywood has some wonderful bras that work great also. Good Luck, a good bra is like a goodpair of shoes!

Hi C. W, I would go to a Macy's, Victoria Secret, Dillard's, or Sears. Getting measured is a free service and than try on many different styles and see which one feels the most comfortable. Save your money and watch for sales. Kohl's is another great spot for sales on bras.

Good Luck,
B. P.
