Glencliff High School has great swimming lessons. My kids all learned to swim there. A couple of their swimming teachers are Metro School Teachers. When you go to sign up you can request a class with an adult teacher.
My step-daughter will be 10 years old this Fall and still hasn't learned to swim. We've signed her up for several lessons over the years and haven't had any luck. Our last attempt was through the YMCA. Unfortunately, most of the teachers were teenagers and she didn't seem to respond to them. I feel she would do better in a one on one setting. Can anyone suggest a personal swim instructor in the South Nashville, Brentwood, or Lavergne, TN area?

supposedly there is one you can do at the Scuba center in M'boro or another in Franklin. It is the Cornerstone Scuba center in M'boro, not sure what it is called in Franklin. It is a long lesson, a few weeks each day. I have also heard of a very good one in Smyrna, nicknamed the "swim natze"...not sure his name though. May be able to find out if you want to email me if you are interested in that one.
Go to http://www.mssueswimming.com/. Ms Sue is wonderful. She is very good with the children and has been teaching lessons for a long time. She does it at her home. I can't remember if she does private lessons.
I was a teacher-life guard with the Red Cross several years ago and taught many children to swim. I'm over 50 and for what I can see, she is afraid of the water. Before she learns, she needs to get familiar with the pool. I can help you. I'm a member of the YMCA so we could talk.
