E., Are you seeking a private school? Not to sure ?
My daughter went to precious Years christian school in gg, located at brookhurst& chapman...It's actually Bixby. At the time it was preschool till 6th grade, not to sure anymore. But i loved Sue Bruck who is the owner and her daughter went to school with my my daughter. The kids all went different directions after graduation, all of our group of kids were like family not classmates. But that school will always have a piece of my HEART. And than there is crystal cathedral great school if you can afford it, my daughter went only one year and than i had to introduce her to public school because i was afraid she would have coulture shock for high school..I am not sure if i answered your question, but i wish you luck...God Bless...A. As far as Public, my friend says that Gilbet is one of the best in GG school district. I don't know this for fact, as I only have a 2 year old.
As for private, Christian education, I HIGHLY recommend Calvary Christian School. Check them out at http://www.ccschool.org/ I know thier located in Santa Ana, but they are SOOOOO worth it. I don't see it listed on their site, but one of the parents said that this school usually tests in the top 5% for California. For FULL day Kindergarten it is $4,850 a YEAR! Compair that to the MODEST rate of $125 a week, for preschool, for roughly 38 weeks (the aproximate school year), it come to $4750. For an extra $100 a YEAR! you're paying for a quality education for your school aged child.
Just some food for thought, -J
If you are looking to go to public school, I do not think there is much of a choice as to where your child will be going, as you usually fall within a contour in which that area is assigned what is called a home school. You may get a school of choice. You will find the best schools are the ones you can't get into out of sheer numbers of families who want to go to this so called "good school". My 7 year old goes to what is consider a "good school" and I kind of wish she went to a school that was a little bit less pressure on her to excel. She is constantly stressed out with the volume of homework she gets each night. What seemed like a good school to me turned out to be a lot of stress and anxiety for my 7 year old. Good luck....
