Hi Ladies,
I'm fairly new to the area and am looking to meet other moms. I have a little girl Vivienne who is 13 months old. My husband works long hours so I'm finding myself in need for more connection. Can somebody give me a couple of moms groups I can contact or suggestions on how to meet other moms in the area?

Thanks you for all the advice and help, Ladies! I joined two moms groups and have gone to my first playdate yesterday. It was so nice to connect again :)
Try meetup.com. My sister started her own group in San Antonio and has over 40 members which she making good friends with other mothers in her area.

I belong to a mom's group that I think you would love. It is affilliated with Stroller Strides but you don't have to be a member to join. We have a mom's night out next Monday and a Christmas party for the kids on the 15th. Some mom's are also meeting tomorrow at Northpark to do pictures with Santa and play. I joined Stroller Strides for the very reason you are posting here and it has been a lifesaver for me. I have lots of friends now and my boys have playmates!

I too moved here from Chicago about four months ago. I have an almost three year old and a two month old. I live in Allen, so we could meet sometime if you would like. My son likes to play at the park a lot, but with the cold weather we have been going to other places instead. We have been going to McDonalds and the rec center in Allen. Anyway, let me know.

I love StrollerFit. It's a great way to work out with your daugther. I am a working mom, but still work out with friends every Saturday. This is a fantastic group of Moms.

Check out www.meetup.com its all kinds of groups and they are all based in different areas.
You can search by whatever criteria you want. That is how I found my group in Dallas.

Hip Mommy and Me Meet Up Group, is an active, friendly, and has a wide age range.
Co. Co. Moms is a Collin County moms group. They are VERY active! To join, you go to www.meetup.com and search for moms groups within 25 miles of your location (mine is 75070, and Co. Co. moms comes up first on the list). I think you request to join, but I was approved within a day or two. I am pregnant now, so I have only made one function so far, but the message boards are active and lots of activities are scheduled! Welcome!!!

(YOu don't have to live in Allen) We have weekly field trips, play groups, adult socials, a book club for Moms, craft circle for Moms, monthly meeting with great topics with child care, a baby sitting co-op, all sorts of ways to be involved (or not, your choice) with very friendly families with children of all ages!
