Hello Moms! My two girls and I just moved here to Virginia Beach to join my hubby, who has been here since last January. We are used to staying very active in playgroups and I was wondering if you could recommend one in this area. I live in Town Centre. Any close by? I'm finally learning my way around here. : ) I'd love to make some new friends. My girls are 4 and almost 2. Thank you!

Have you gone to meetup.com yet? They have a lot of different mom's groups. You can search by area to find the one closest to you, or by interest to find a group of other moms that have the same interests as you. Good luck, and welcome to the area!!

We moved here in April. I am also looking for a playgroup and friends. I am a new military wife and mother. My hubby joined the military at 30 and this is our firs duty station. I have a 10 month old and a 9.5 yr old. The military is new to me. I left everything I know. I work as a hairdresser but the girls I work with our young. Anyway, i love walks with the kids, working out, spending time with my children, parks, etc. My hubby is deployed on and off. I would love to meet other military wifes (i wish we had moved on base). If you are interested let me know. Its a great area ( lots to do with the kids no matter what age) and good schools (when you are ready). Hope to hear from you. Kate

It's a FREE group and will be serving the South Hampton Roads Areas. We are having a meet and greet July 24th at MacArthur Mall kids play area at 10am. We'd love have you join us. Im on the other side of the water, but try Meetup.com. That is where Ive found 2 playgroups.
go to yahoogroups.com and search mom playgroups in this area. i'm in two. christianmoms and hamptonroadsmodenmoms. hope you find one you like! the great thing about these groups on yahoo instead of saymeetup.com is that we can also chat online between playdates and we talk alot. so its nice to have adult conversation while at home too without having to go out.
Try Meetup.com . There are lots of different groups you can join to meet other mothers with children your age. Also try joining your spouse's FRG. There are also Mommy & Me programs with the ASYMCA. Check out their site at ASYMCAHR.ORG (I think that's the site), they have a lot of free (or small priced) things for you to do and it will give you a chance to meet other moms.

Welcome to VA Beach! We moved here last March and although it is pretty crowded, there are tons of things to do with kids.
I belong to a MOM's Club that I really like. I have to say I haven't been the most active member, but the other moms are very welcoming and friendly.
Respond to this posting and I can send you my email address and the email address and phone number of the woman that could set you up as a new member. You are welcome to come to a monthly meeting (the next one is Jan. 5) and see what you think.

My family and I just moved here this past Feb. We are currently not involved in a playgroup even though we did search for some but never found one that fit our time schedule or interests.
