Hi again!
Recently my sons pediatrician retired. My kids are due for their vaccines and check up but I haven't found another pediatrician yet. I wondered if I could get advice on a local pediatrician. My old pedio. was in Fullerton and what I lOVED about him was that he would get us in right away and the longest we ever waited in the lobby was 5 minutes... no joke! :) I would like to find one with similar services... ALso I myself go to a family doctor that my kids have seen from time to time.. so I debating on whether to look for a pediatrican or just have my sons see my own doctor.. But I am weiry if a family doctor, who usually sees adults, knows about children vaccines... Last year my son had the stomach flu and my doctor didnt have a child doe med for him just adult dosages to stop the vomiting... I NEED your advice. Thank you
C.

C.: It sounds like you had the ideal Dr. for your children. I don't think i can ever remember waiting a mere 5 minutes for an appt.Your spoiled. lol So be prepared...You may have to join the rest of us crossword,suduku.. freaks in the waiting room from here on in. The first thing i would do, is make sure you got your hands on the transcripts of all your childrens medical records and shot records from your childrens previous Dr. You have no idea how helpful that is,for their next Doctor, and YOU. It certainly will be a must, when School asks for proof of all their required vacines. If I had that much trust in a Doctor, I would ask him for a referal. He probably knows alot of good Pediatricians, himself, that practice much the same. If your not able to get that, then I'd ask your Doctor for the name of a good pediatrician. You trust your Dr,so that could be your last resort. I really don't think the fact he didn't have a dose of nausia medication for your son was a major concern. It's not like he's treating children on a daily basis, and that was something he Should have had in his office at the time. I'm sure, that if he opted to take on some children,as new patients that he would then make certain,he carried appropriate supplies in his office. What I'm trying to say, is if your Dr. was a obgyn, you wouldn't expect him to store a Chickenpox vacine in his office for a kid.lol The nice thing about A Family Dr. treating you all,is that he gets to familarize himself with all your family medical history. and medical needs, and of course your children, become accustom to him also, and feel that much more comfortable, wether it be regular check-ups or when an emergency arises. The very best of luck to you,and your sweet boys.

I live in Chino and I have a wonderful pediatrician. He is in Pomona, not to far. It takes 14 minutes to get there going down side streets. It is accross from Pomona Valley Hospital. I am not sure where you live in Chino Hills, but it is worth the drive. If you were going all the way to Fullerton, this is probably closer anyways. He is amazing. My little girl is only 2 and a half months old, but we love him in the 3 visits we have been to. He is so caring and knowledgeable. He spent over 45 minutes with us answering questions that we had at all of our visits so far. They are a busy office, but so far no problems for me. They have sick and well rooms. They also have a doc on call at all after hour times. I loved that. You actually call an emergency number and it is forwarded directly to the on call docs cell number. I don't know if that is normal, but it works for me. My doctors name is James Warren. There are also 5 other docs in the office. They all prefer to see their own patients of course, but if they are not available for whatever reason the other ones are there. I have also met 3 of the other docs and liked them as well, but we LOVE Dr. Warren. There is a website if you want to check out the office, crudentials, etc.

C.,
She's not in Chino Hills, but Brea and her name is Lauren Stearns. She is a family practice MD and doesn't push vaccines and is more open minded. I have a number of patients who see her and really like her a lot b/c she doesn't force the issue. Her number is ###-###-####
Good luck!

C.,
How old are your boys? I hope you are reading up on vaccines. There is a great book called A Shot in the
Dark. You can find it on Amazon. I have done alot of
research since a dear friend of mine has 2 sons with
Autism. She gave them their shots "on time" and they
are the ones with it. One of the problems, is they
give babies/children, adult doses. Their little immune
systems are not strong enough. I also have a daughter
who is 26, that had 13 shots. That was "normal" at that
time. My son who is almost 6, they wanted to give him
at least 25, which is almost double. Wonder why autism is
now one in 1/150 children. A few years ago, it was 1/3000.
Please do some research.

Hi C.! I'm within the Kaiser group. I see pediatricians in the Laurel office in Rancho Cucamonga. I have no complaints. If my regular doctor isn't in, another will see my boys which is fine with me because they're usually thorough when they give them a check up.

Also, are you giving your boys vitamins? Try USANIMALS from USANA HEALTH SCIENCES. Rated number one in Nutrisearch Comparative Guide to Children's Nutritional Supplements (Can be found in any bookstore if you want to research).

I love, love, love my pediatrician who is in Chino Hills. Dr. Sheth is in the new medical office building located right behind the Krikorian movie theaters next to the 71 Fwy on Roswell Ave. She is a wonderful doctor who goes the extra mile for her patients. When my boys have been sick, she has called me at home to follow up and she has a great relationship with the children. I have two boys and they both love her. She also shares her office with Dr. Ameeri who sees adults.
