Seeking Pediatrician Who Takes State Insurance in Albany Area

I've been to quite a few pediatricians in this area. There are some that seriously sicken me. I also work as an billing manager for a primary care office but used to work at Albany Med.

I highly recommend Delmar Pediatrics. I personally see Dr. Brand or Dr. Larner, they are just my fave and closest to my age range and have kids in my age range so I think they can better relate. I have never waited more than 5 minutes in the waiting room and I always get prompt callbacks if I don't get the answer right then and there. Hello, you may want to try Guilderland Pediatrics. They have been my Dr's for 20+ years & my son still goes to Dr. Ford. The ENTIRE staff there is fantastic. They use to take CDPHP, I'm sure if you call, they'll confirm if they still take the insurance and/or if they are accepting new patients. Gook Luck . . . D.

If you call CDPHP they will send you a list of all their participating pediatricians. I live in Ravena and our local doctors are part of the Capital Care group. Capital Care takes CDPHP/child health plus. My kids' pediatrician is in Catskill (because we used to live in Greene County and never switched to anyone else) and they also take it but I think that's a bit of a ways to travel for you.

He is in Cohoes but wonderful. I have been with him for 9 years.

hi J.. i think st peters family center takes cdphp im pretty sure i had that when i was going there. they have two locations that i know of. one is on 326th south pearl st in albany and the other is in the hospital in i think its 315 s.manning blvd in albany. i only know the obgyn number for the one on south pearl st. its ###-###-#### they can connect you to the pediatrics dept or the front desk if south manning is closer they can give you the number to that one two but they should be able to tell you if they accept it or not. hope this helps you.

I also recommend Albany Med. Peds. I am positive they take CDPHP/Child Health Plus as we used to have that. They are located at 1 Clara Barton Drive, just off Holland near the hospital. Their # is ###-###-####. Try Dr. Elaine Schulte there, she's one of the supervising docs (and I used to babysit her kids so I know her personally, too.) You will see "doctors in training" when you go in for a sick call but all your child's well-care visits will be scheduled with his primary physician. And there are ALWAYS supervising doctors available if needed. I really like the nurses there, too. Check them out!

I know that Albany Medical Center Pediatrics Group takes CHPHP/CHP, that is what my daughter has. They are wonderful! Let me know if you would like the number.
