Hi B.- check out the Hyde Park Neighborhood Club. They offer fun classes and have regular playgroups too. Not sure where you're located but you might also want to check out the Museum of Science and Industry (they have a great play area for little ones), and the Smart Museum & Hyde Park Art Center both offer free art programs every month for kids too.

Good luck!

Try the Chicago Park District...they have many open playgroups at the park near you. It is a great way for your son to run around and play while you meet parents as well. :) Have fun. :)

I'm not sure where on the southside you are located, but Hyde Park has several playgroups based on age. Google "Hyde Park Parent Support Network", and you should be able to find out more info.

good luck,
J.

try meetup.com
it's a social networking site arranged by zip and interest topic so you might be able to find something for you both!
