I have two daughters (ages 3-1/2 and 16 months). Our family just moved to Dresher from Michigan. I'm a new SAHM and thought I'd try and find a playgroup to join. Any ideas?
You could go to Momsclub.org and they will give you the contact person for the nearest moms club. It's a great way to find a playgroup, meet other SAHMs and find local things to do with kids. Good luck!

I run a Mom and Baby Fitness program called One Fit Mama. We have kids involved who are anywhere from 6 weeks to 6 years old. We also host lots of social and educational events for Mothers. One of my favorite parts of our classes is that our Moms are always planning playdates and functions outside of classes as well. There are quite a few Moms from Dresher that exercise with us, and many moms of multiple children. If you'd like to come out a try out a class for free, please do! Best of luck to you!

I second Theresa's suggestion. I loved the MOMS Club when my 2 older children, now 9 and 7, were young. I always had something to do with them! Plus, there were things for me to do without the kids too! I know there is an Abington MOMS Club and I am pretty sure they are the local club for you. Have fun!

I HIGHLY recommend you look into the Parenting Center at Abington. They have a drop in group...maybe it's changed a bit and is more formal, I don't know...every Friday. I started when my daughter was an infant, met a lot of great moms and kids, and it became my playgroup. We were really tight knit and I still am very close friends with some of the women...and this was quite a number of years ago!

There is also a website called meetup.com that lists several Mommy groups in the area. They list tons of activities.
