I am seeking quality thrift shops for men and women's work clothes, childrens clothes and household items in or near the following areas:

-- Lansdowne / Springfield
-- Plymouth Meeting / East Norriton
-- Center City

I don't care about brand names. I'm just looking for good merchandise for decent, thrift store prices.

What can I do next?

There are a couple right in the heart of Lansdowne--one that specializes in kids stuff (although they may be phasing out the clothes, I'm not sure) and right next to it is the Delaware County Memorial Hospital thrift shop. It's actually pretty decent.

Otherwise, check the further suburbs--I know the Goodwill out in Berwyn is far away, but because of the area it's in they have REALLY nice stuff sometimes. :)

There is a little thrift shop on the outskirts of Center City in Fishtown. It is in on Aramingo, in the Aramingo Plaza where the Pep Boys and Thriftway are. We always find some amazing stuff there.

Hi H.,

I don't know about clothes for adults but Kid to Kid on Township Line Rd. & Burmont Rd. in Drexel Hill is great for kids clothes.

All these thrift stores aren't thrift stores anymore. They're called consignment shops and still price everything wayyyyyy to expensive. There used to be the stores that you can find a big pack of toys for $.50-$1.00. I still believe that they have that one in South Philly, 8th and Jackson. But Center City has the Salvation Army and South Street has a couple of thrift stores.
South Philly has the Goodwill store on 22nd and Passyunk.
They're all still so expensive, so I just go to walmart. Their prices are better than the Goodwill.
