Hi. I live in McKinney and I am looking for a very qualified, experienced bariactric surgeon to possibly do the Lap Band surgery for me. I am more than 100 pounds over weight and I am interested in learning more about this procedure.

If you have any information about this type of surgery, what to expect and all that please share. Thanks, also if you have had a bad experience with the lap band or a surgeon also let me know, Thanks

To add to my post, I have done the Nutri system and I am not fond of the food plus I would like a more perminate solution that will allow me to eat food that the rest of my family eats. I dont really have to much problems with over eating as I do with just not making the right choices. I am currently blogging my journey at www.mybloggingdiet.blogspot.com I am blogging so I can have accountability and a journal type release. I am also going to start using the Apex fat burner and follow the biggest looser plan as much as I can but more than that I am really trying to make a life style change and learn to make healthier choices for my family and myself. I have spent my life doing for others and have not really taken care of myself at all lately and I am makeing a choice this year to put myself first so that I can be healthy to take care of others better. (namely my family). Thanks for all help with this. I appreciate it. I have not had success with "diet" plans before because they have never tought me how to choose foods for my entire family and how to make better life choices forever and not just for a "diet plan".

My husband recently had lap band done. He used Dr. Fox at Medical City Dallas. He was very good. My husband has no regrets. Since October he has lost a total of 42 pounds.

I don't have a recommendation, but my aunt had this done in NY and had a few self-inflicted issues. After the surgery, even though she was supposed to eat VERY small portions, she continued to overeat and would throw up constantly. She had to go back to the doctor several times because of this. She even started taking acid reflux med because all the food that she ate would not fit in her stomach and cause a lot of discomfort, plus all the damage the throwing up did. She did lose a lot of weight though. If you get it done, please make sure you do not overeat. You could do some serious damage.

I am currently on Nutrisystem. Have you ever tried that? There are a lot of people that have lost over 100 lbs on it. It may be worth a try before doing something so drastic like the lap band. Let me know if I can answer any questions about it. Good luck to you. Losing weight stinks!

Don't go to True Results. The staff there is terrible and give the sense that they are running a lap band mill with no real sense of caring about the patients well being.
