L., Dr. Daniel Stewart at Shawnee Mission Hospital is great. Dr. Daniel Gelbach at Olathe Medical Center is also good. Dr. Stewart would be more aggresively proactive I think.
I wish your friend the best of luck.

I have a good friend who is 39. She has tried to get pregnant for 5 years, with no luck. She tried in vitro twice with Dr. Lyles and did not get pregnant. The good news is that she has gotten pregnant 3 times, naturally, but all of these pregnancies have ended in very early miscarriages (around 6 weeks). I think she should be on progesterone or something else to help prevent future miscarriages. She said that her OB is not concerned about it. He just tells her to relax and it will happen. To her credit, she has "let go" of the issue and it did happen - she did get pregnant again in December, but the pregnancy ended in miscarriage. Her fertility doctor does not seem to be offering any solutions either. He wants her to do in vitro with donor eggs. She may consider this but would first like to see if there is something she can do to keep a natural pregnancy viable. I thought some of the women on this board might have dealt with similar issues before they finally got their miracles babies. If you have recommendations about an OB or a fertility doctor who could help her prevent future miscarriages, I would really appreciate hearing from you. Thank you!

Mary Zhang is an acupuncturist (traditional) who works with fertility issues. Her website is www.maryzhang.com. She also has a naturopath in her office, and they may be able to work with your friend to help balance her hormones, etc. with the hope to carry to term. I think it would be worthwhile to at least consult with their office to see what they think.
Good luck to your friend!
Yours in health,
Dr. Alyssa
I have no experience with this, but I wanted to say that I also use Dr. Finkelston and I love him too! I didn't know that he had experience with this, but here's just a second vote of confidence for a great doc!
My heart goes out to your friend and I hope she finds someone who can help!
I will also add that we had some very dear friends go through some infertility issues and they were not satisfied with the clinics here in KS. They used a very famous place in Colorado, outside of Denver, that really pinpointed their issues and they now have beautiful babies! I don't want to be discouraging, just let her know she's not alone! I know it's kind of far away, but before she loses hope she may check it out! I'm sorry I don't know the name of it but you may be able to find it on-line.
Don't waste any more time or allow any more stress. Call me or e-mail and I will help her. V. ###-###-####. Don't have time to write now, but each woman i have helped get healthy has gotten pregnant within 2 months. She needs to give the baby the healthiest environment to grow in, THEN get pregnant!
Dr. Mark Finkleston works with this type of thing well, and is very proactive. He is out of SMMC.
Good luck, this is hard. I have been there.

I would urge your friend to contact Dr. Daniel Stewart at Reproductive Medicine & Infertility. He's fabulous. Down to earth, willing to listen to his patients desires, and offers no nonsense (not after your money) advice and treatment. I have him to thank for both of my children and recommend him to anyone I know who needs help. He's affiliated with Shawnee Mission Medical Center. His office is in the Georgetown complex off of 75th.
Dr. Stewart at SMMC is the best! I had three miscarriages before my daughter who is now 8 months old! He is going to be on channel 9 news this Thursday at 10:00 have your friend watch. His office staff is friendly and they get you in very quick.
