Does anyone have a natural sunblock product that they have tried on their child dealing with eczema?
We use the Alba Botanicals one - everything else, including Aveeno, stings my son (and me, too)
Other suggestions when I asked were:
California Baby from Whole Foods (about $18)

My stepmom introduced me to Arbonne products. They are an individual retailer (like Avon or Tastefully Simple) and they make products specifically for adults and children with skin issues. I have used their sunblock on my son (he has eczema on his arms and legs) and I loved it.
You could also try Aveeno Baby sunblock. I just picked that up last week because my stepmom was out of the arbonne.

My daughter has been struggling with eczema for 10 years, it's under control with a lot of moisturizing. She uses Aveeno products for everything: sunblock, moisturizer & soap!
My daughter has sensitive skin....I use California Baby --Target sells it.
Another vote for California Baby. Our daughter also has eczema, but it does not irritate it further.
My son has eczema which was TERRIBLE when he was much younger (he's now 3). I found a brand called Mustela which is a miracle lotion! You can buy thier products online (like at dermstore.com) or Bath & Body Works (only larger ones though, like at Fox Valley mall). They have a Cold Cream for very irritated areas & a line called Stelatopia which is specifically for eczema. They also make sunblock. What I found, is once I got his skin healthy using these products, I can now use regular sunblock & don't need to be paranoid everytime he goes in a chlorinated pool. As soon as he's done swimming, he gets rinsed & we put the body lotion on & he's fine. The tough part was repairing his skin to a point where it could tolerate a little bit. We tried all the Aveno, Neutrogena, etc products & nothing worked.

Dealing with eczema is hard and not only is it painful sometimes for them but for us as parents as well. What are you using for him to wash and lotion up with? The products that you use are important and I have seen children with this issue use botanically based or organically based products and the issue disappears! We still use Vanicream. We have to have our pharmist special order it through CVS (about $15 a tube - but well worth it). Our dermatologist gave us a sample when he was a few months old and his eczema was horrible. Three years later, we still swear by it! Good luck!
Both of my children, ages 3 years and 8 months, have eczema and we have always only used Aveeno Baby. My advice would be to test a small amount on your child before using all over on his body, as every child will be different. My pediatrician also recommended Neutrogena. Good luck!

I was a nanny to a litlle girl who had bad eczema and I always used the walgreens brand, spf 50 and she didn't have a problem with avveno baby either. I am sure you know this but it is just as important to wash it off when you get home too. I notice she was break out a little more if I didn't wash it off everyday too.

The nicest one we've found is Badger Sunscreen SPF 15 or 30.
I agree with the California Baby. I use it on my kids too. My twins had bad eczema until about 15 months. I use California bodywash/shampoo for sensitive skin. I use detergent and fabric softener (liquid only) without scent. At one point I used Dermasmooth oil (prescription with steroid)on my daughter's shoulder because she was irritated from a sunscreen (not cali Baby). I didn't put sunscreen on her again until it cleared up. Had to put a Rash guard (shirt) on her until then. I think any suncreen even Cali Baby will irritate the skin if it is irritated or open.Good luck:)
We found one that was "Jason" brand that didn't cause my son any problems. The advice from his dermatologist is that we have to use a barrier versus chemical sunscreen.
