Seeking to Connect with "Older" Moms with Young Kids

I too am an "older" mom now. I am 44 with a almost 5 year old daughter AND 3 more; 26 & 21 year old daughters, 16 year old son. I live in San Jose. It's nice to know there are others and would be happy to meet or just talk.

Hey G. -- I'm just jealous that you have time to form new frienships -- good for you! I'm turning 50 in two weeks, and have a 6 year old daughter and a 16 year old son -- but as a single mom (not by choice) and owner of my own business, I can barely find time to feed everyone! ;)

I'm 43 with boy/girl twins who are 13.5 months old. There's nothing like waiting until mid-life to start a family. LOL! I would love to connect, too, with "older" moms with children.

Look at www.lasmadres.org... it's organized by birth year and region so yourr little one will have the same playmates now that they'll attend kindergarten with. Plus there are sub-groups for older MaMas if you want exclusive comraderie for yourself. In our '04 group we had plenty of MaMas over 40... you might find the same situation in the '06 group for your area.

I'm not sure where you live, but I guess I would consider myself an "older" mom. I am 41(42 in May) and I have 3 children: 18, 7, and 4. I live in South San Jose and would enjoy meeting some new friends.

I am an older mom (50 in a few weeks) with a two and a half year old. I would love to connect with other older moms. I have been thinking of starting a mom's group where we would have babysitting for the kids as well. My nanny is willing to do the job. I thought of having a mom's support group and a play group as well with such a group.

I'm 48 with 5-year old twins. I have often thought about wouldn't it be great to start a group or at least meet up with other moms who are older to swap stories, info, support for the interesting path that is the older moms! Why not set up a time, date, and place (a park maybe?) for having a first time meet-up for anyone interested? Could be great!
