Seeking Toddler Activities

My daughter is 18 months and I am looking for activities in the Guthrie/Edmond area. Something like a dance class, swimming lessons, tumbling - ANYTHING! I know she's young and don't expect her to really learn how to do these activities but I want her to have some play time outside her normal routine. I contacted the Guthrie YMCA and they don't offer the toddler swimming right now (or any other type of class) and the Edmond YMCA only offers it one morning a week and I'm working during that time. Any ideas?

What can I do next?

We love OK Gold. They have mommy and me classes in the evening. It's about $130 for 9 weeks.

It is hard to find activities until they get a little older, but there are some. The Edmond library has a wonderful story/play time for toddlers on Tuesday mornings. Age appropriate games, songs, stories, and activities. Guthrie may offer something similar. Oklahoma Gold offers toddler tumbling classes starting at 18 months. These are mommy and me type classes, you would be helping her through the activities.

Check out MOPS (mothers of preschoolers) in Edmond. They have lots of activities for mothers of all ages.

Pick up Metro Family magazine at the library (or other location). They have a great calendar section with family activities. They also have lots of advertisements for children's activites. You'll see that some activities start at 2 years old and lots more start at 3 years old.

It seems slow right now, but you'll be running her all over town to activities before you know it!

I think the Lighthouse off Hefner Pkwy near Edmond has swimming lessons. We did tumbling at the Oklahoma Gold Gymnastics and my kids loved it. I believe they have classes for all ages.
