Its probally too late now to ask, but has anyone ever taken their toddler to Sesame Place? My concern is that it is going to be very hot and my son still takes a 2 hour nap from noon to 2pm. I am wondering what to do for naptime.... I guess I can have him sleep in our minivan but I'm looking for a better solution. Any experiences at Sesame Place? Thanks..

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

It was a good day... a little hot (yeah right), but definately made memories today. We did go for the full day. I read a few online e(o)pinions that recommeded the preferred parking $16 instead of $13, but there's shade and a shaded picnic area.
We got there when it opened (10 am), went to the back of the park for Elmo's world and let my son decide where he wanted to go. He did a few rides and played in the bounce world thing and did a few character pics and then we headed to the car for our picnic lunch. I lathered him in sunscreen as often as I could. He wore a UV sun protection shirt and board shorts and his aquasocks w/ a UV sun oversized hat.

I had frozen several juice boxes and bottles of water which I brought in with me to the park both times.. my son really enjoyed having "icy" beverages. The only thing we bought at the park was an ice cream cone 2.99 -- and one character photo of the family 16.99 and 7.99 for the frame. Other than that, we got in free for military -- Hero's salute.

At noon we went to the picnic area to eat lunch and then I turned the AC on in our minivan and sat my son in his car seat. He fell asleep and took an hour nap.. that was good b/c then he woke up around 2 and it was all water park after that.

It was definately hot...I would recommed going on a cooler day, but you can't beat pre school ending (early June) and during the week. Plus, we had to go before my husband was on orders again.

Good luck and happy visiting Sesame Place.. it's definately expensive but there are discount coupons -- the best were for $10 off at Giant??

Going on a "cooler" day would be much better. Difficult to be outside anywhere in this heat with a 2 yr old, let alone at an amusement park. I second the idea that you just spend 1/2 a day. Do you really want to sit in your car for 2 hrs while he naps? Go early, then leave, or go late, until the park closes.

I took my son last year when he was 23 months old. We went after 4:00 PM so he didn't miss his nap, it was cooler and I was half price (he was free). There isn't a lot for a toddler to really do, so we had enough time to do the things he wanted. He was most happy visiting with all the characters. Good luck and have fun if you go!

I was there years ago and like most water parks, there isn't much relief from the sun. If your son is anything like my kids, I don't think he would tolerate this intense heat for very long and your day could prove to be quite miserable for the both of you.

I would do it another week when its not so dangerously hot out.

As for the nap, I would just go early when they open or go after the nap.....would he sleep in the car on the way to Sesame Place instead? I'm all about keeping the kids on a schedule but one day wouldn't hurt if he took it later on the way home either.

Maybe they have a place to eat inside or an arcade? I would think that sitting anywhere that is a little cooler would be a nice alternative. Take a book and cuddle your baby while he sleeps :)
