I totally recommend infusium as well. It is really cheap and works awesome! I haven't tried the banana thing. I actually have no hair right now because I'm going through chemo, so I guess I would say enjoy it even WITH banana in it! Hahaha!
Watched Dr. Oz the other day. He suggested putting mashed banana on your hair to help strengthen it, moisturize it, or overall help the health of your hair. MISTAKE! Do not do this! It took 4 shampoos and 2 conditioners to get it all out. And my bathroom counter and bathtub look like vomit splatter. My hair still smells like banana. I may need to wash it again tonight. How does THAT help my hair - washing it 4 or 5 times? Anyone else try this with better results? What other cheap ways are there to give your hair some revtalization? I have very thin curly hair. I do not have soft beautiful curls, but wish every day that I did!
UPDATE:
For the two ladies that said that they will not try this now that I scared them out of doing it: I bought two large bananas ((my hair goes past my shoulders, almost to my bra line) and thought I mashed them pretty good. Perhaps not good enough. When I put it in my hair I coated the outside, then fliped my hair up to the top of my head and put more on. I put on a shower cap then mashed the chunks of banana into my scalp. I don't think there will be a 'next time' as the tiniest little bits of banana are/were still in my hair. The big chunks came out fine. But maybe I should have blended the banana in the blender?? I don't know. Thanks to the person who said that it did work. I will try Infusium and/or the vinegar wash (I do have hard water!) HMM> Just went to look in the mirror to see if I had banana in there. My hair DOES look really nice and feels softer than usual. Is that because I conditioned it twice? Or because of the banana? Maybe I WILL try it again, but will read more online about the best way to do it (blending it, using really old brown bananas ....?)

sorry to hear that.. I really really like Infusium products sold at places like target and grocery store.. very reasonable used them when I swam alot growing up.. I like them better than salon products.
I HAVE used a banana mask before and it really does work! Sounds like you maybe didn't mash it up enough and probably used way too much of it also. A little bit goes a long way. If you don't want to try the banana again using less banana, then you can get a leave in conditioner called infusium. You can buy it at Walmart and it is awesome stuff and cheap! Remeber: a little bit goes a loooong way! :)
I saw this show today also. I was glad those women put it in HIS hair too!!! I guess i will not be trying this at home!
I've never tried banana. I did try olive oil once. Works well for lots of people but not for me. Coconut oil worked better. Some people swear by honey, and I've heard others scramble up a raw egg. Some like mayo or lemon juice or vinegar. Everyone has different texture hair and results will vary based on your hair type.

LOL! I tried the mayo once and really had to work to get it off. But it wasn't that bad. Is there anything we women won't try to look better!
I really like the Shaklee hair products, Prosante. You can find them at http://www.shaklee.net/healthforlife.

Oh my, I am glad you posted this because I would have tried it.
I have thin flat oily hair that gets very brittle on the ends. I try to avoid products and styling when ever possible.
The best thing I have done is let a good hair stylest tell me what would work best for my hair.
