Okay, so I have not shaved my legs for the last three and a half years, mostly because i didnt care anymore but my husband also said he liked that i was trying the all natural thing...

My hair is blond so it became very light and hard to see, although it is kind of long. I mean i notice it, i dont know if other people do.

anyway, i do not want to shave anymore or ever again. But i have never waxed my legs before and was considering it. I am wondering if i should bother getting it done and if i do will it be painful? will it be worth it? will the hair stay softer like people say?
also, do you have advice for bikini waxing?

let me know what you learned from your experience!!

What can I do next?

if the hair doesnt bother you, maybe leave it? the calves are the most painful to wax. bikini and brows being the easiest. I do my own waxing but shave the calves. I use hard wax without strips because its easiest. But I would get a professional to do it first and then do upkeep. I remember a babysitter i used, my kids called her the "big hairy lady"! but one day i saw why, she was in a skirt and her very long leg hair were blowing like long grass in the wind. different...

Body hair texture doesn't have anything to do with shaving, waxing, etc...as we get older the texture changes on it's own. If you have soft light hair then it should not change much, may get thinner as you get older.

As for waxing, it can be expensive, painful, irritating to the skin, time consuming, it can look very nice though. But each time I have seen someone getting waxed they still had to shave the missed hairs off. So, my thoughts would be why not just pay someone to shave them for you. Or have laser hair removal. It would be permanent so that would be good.

OMG you are one lucky woman--- Your hubby likes you au natural??? That is rare- for a guy to like a woman with hairy legs! I would keep them as they are unless they bother you. As for waxing, yes it hurts but it feels so nice to be smooth and silky for a few weeks after so I say its worth it. Do a test spot first though to make sure you aren't sensitive.

I have sensitive skin and waxing my legs breaks me out something bad. I get ingrown hairs like crazy, very red and inflammed, etc. So I either nair or shave. Surprisingly my bikini wasn't bad at all lol. I just put some aloe on it, too soothe, and it was fine.
I would suggest maybe doing a "test strip" on your legs to see how it feels and if it will break you out. Everyone's skin will react differently to it, plus there are different types of wax. Good Luck!

don't fool around with mother nature.

Is it worth it, yes! IF you have the money and time. Waxing is great however, you have to keep it up every few weeks - that can get expensive & timely. It will take about 3-5 times to get all of the hair in a consistent growth cycle - in other words, you won't have hairs growing in 3 days after your wax b/c some of the hair hadn't broke thru yet during the first couple of waxes. Yes, the hair does get softer when growing back. Is it painful, yes the first few times are but you will build a tolerance to it. Bikini waxes are the bomb! I stopped shaving there b/c the razor burn has gotten so bad - luckily I'm blonde and it isn't thick. Once I get a job, I will be back to waxing that area again.

Go for it! If you don't like it, you don't have to do it again.

I haven't tried waxing anything other than my eyebrows, but from what people say, it is far better than shaving, although somewhat painful.

I say, if you have gone without shaving/waxing for this long, and you and hubby are ok with you being au naturale, why bother?

I found waxing my calves incredibly painful. My upper legs were fine. Same with bikini waxing. If I could afford to keep that up, I totally would. But you need to get waxed about every 4 weeks, and the hair does grow in in between.

Honestly, if you don't care and your husband doesn't care, I'd just let it go. No maintenence beats upkeep any day.
