I saw the prior posts and it sounds like its nothing to worry about. However I always give a phone call to the dr or dentist whenever I'm not sure. Several times they've told me to come in to look at something and I'd say more than 1/2 the time I've been told, "Good job Mama. It's better to address this now than to 'wait and see'."
You don't mention your daughter's age. My initial reaction was, if she's already 5 or 6 why not just have it pulled to ensure that the adult one comes in straight - better to do it now than have to talk about braces later, right?
But if she's still littler than that, I've give them a call and see what they say. Another idea is that if she hasn't been to a pediatric dentist yet, call YOUR dentist. Ask them to take a look. They will likely see her, count her teeth, give her a chair ride and keep it a very fun experience.
I did this with my first child when I noticed a black spot on her tooth - 2 yr molar. We did get referred to a ped dentist and am so glad we checked it out when we did.
I love the advice given on Mamapedia and the internet, but I don't blindly follow advice that goes against my gut. A phone call can't hurt!
