I had the double combi and it was fine at Disney.compare width online. I can.t remember how wide the maclaren was. Put nametags many places on it. Have fun!
I'm traveling to Disney next month with my two kids (ages 1.5 and 3.5). I recently bought the Maclaren Twin Triumph Double Stroller and thought it would be perfect for our trip because it is so lightweight and easy to maneuver. My hubby thinks we should take 2 single strollers...he has doubts the side-by-side double stroller will fit through the monorail without having to fold it. I'm pretty sure it will fit just fine but I'd hate to get down there and be wrong...I hate hearing "I told you so" :). So I'm hoping one of you mommies out there has been to Disney with a side-by-side double stroller and can reassure me that I will have no problems getting on and off on the monorail. Thanks!!

We tried the monorail on the first day and hated it. The boat is so much more relaxing. So no need to do the monorail, plus my kids loved the boat!
I would check the web site, or even give them a call. The two singles may work better. Hubby may want to go on his own with one child for a while while you go off in the other direction with the other child for a while. Maybe you'll want to shop while he takes the older child on some rides. Just use your cells to reconnect. They do make the connectors that clip two single together, umbrella type strollers that is. Then you could have the option of both.

we go to disney every year, i have taken a peg perago side by side and havent had a problem through the park, we dont use the monorail we take the ferry. its definetly easier to take 1 stroller oppsed to 2 with all the crowds
Have a great time! We recently went, my children were 4 and 1.5 we took our Joovey Sit and Stand stroller. It worked out well. I did have another idea that we were going to do. I did see a few families doing the same, you may want to consider this. Take your single stroller, the one with a large basket underneath, and take an umbrella stroller that you can place in the basket. That way you have the umbrella stroller if you need it and you have a full stroller for your little one. The large basket is nice to place your water bottles and snacks.
Good Luck! Safe Travels.
Disney has real nice buggies to rent that fit a couple kids and are pretty durable/comfortable. If you decide to go this route, lots of people rent them so take something to tie on yours so you can easily spot it amongst the crowd as you have to leave it outside several of the attractions.
If you stick with the stroller, I would consider, are you and your husband both going to be together at all times? If not, will one take one kid and one the other? If not then you need to use the double stroller. It's too difficult for one person to push two strollers especially in the crowded streets of Disney!
yes, yes, yes!!! take the double! we went in feb with a maclaren side by side and took it everywhere no problem! you definitely wont want to mess around with 2 strollers! have a blast! our kids were 1 and 3 1/2 when we went and it was great. your daughter will love it! the look on my 3 yo's face when she saw the castle for the first time (on the monorail) was priceless! definitely take a princess dress for her to wear in the park--all of the workers will address her as "princess"....too cute
I have a 3y/o & 5 y/o and we were there in Dec. I would go w/ the single strollers. It's too crowded to push a dble around especially when there's a parade or other event where there's a lge crowd. We took 1 single along & whoever was tired sat in it. you can also rent strollers & we found out the last day that if you rent in 1 park you can take your receipt & it's good in another park. Have fun!
We go to disney every year with my two girls. I highly recommend renting the disney stroller. We took our own the first year it was such a pain. the large double stroller you get from disney is amazing. It has room for everything and the kids love it. Taking your own you have to fold it up everytime you leave the park regaurdless of what you are traveling by. You could also loose it at one of the many stroller parking places.
We took our Maclaren side-by-side and although it fit on the monorail it was so crowded that we still had to fold it just as a courtesy to other passenger's. Also check with your hotel, some have an escalator to take you to the monorail that you'll have to fold for.
T., We went to Disney when our two oldest were just 2 & 4 ...and didn't take any strollers at all! Disney has great strollers that are clean, well-maintained, easy to use and cheap to rent. We flew down and I chose to take a car seat (used it on the plane it was great!)rather than lug something else along. It really worked out well, we rented a double wagon at Sea World, Strollers at Disney, and I think we even rented a stroller (or a wagon) for the girls when we went to Kennedy Space center (if your going down there ya have to get there it's amazing!) Check the web sites of all the places you plan on visisting...you may not want to take a stroller at all. Have a great time!
I definitely thing the double stroller will be a pain. I would take 2 if you must-for non-park activities. The parks have awesome strollers. When I went I took a sit and stand but ended up not using it because the park's were perfect and so much less hassle. One piece of advice if you use Disney's: do something to differentiate your stroller. Maybe tie something bright to it. We once lost our stroller-there are millions parked outside rides and they all obviously look alike.
We went to Disney a few years back when my kids were 3 and 1.5 and took my Chicco side by side double umbrella stroller. It worked out great! I did not have any problems getting in and out of places with it. We did have to fold it to get on the trams from the parking lot.(we did not stay in the park)The only advantage I could see of taking 2 seperate would be if you plan on splitting up. Your 3.5 year old most likely won't want to stay in the stroller the whole time, and if you take 2 you'll end up having to push an empty stroller. If you take the double you can push it with an empty seat and your hubby can be hands free to keep up with your older child until he/she tires and hops back in. Have fun on your trip!
T.,
I have NOT been to Disney with a double stroller BUT I have been to several other amusement parks with my kids (3yrs old and 18 months) and I would say take two seperate strollers. JUST IN CASE for the monorail but ALSO because I have found that sometimes you need to split up and the kids end up going in different directions (ie one falls asleep and the other still wants to go on rides but is "too tired" to walk : )) Having two seperate strollers has come in handy MANY times for us in the past.
HAVE FUN!

I agree with Karen, take 2 single strollers, you never know when you might want to go in 2 different directions. It will give you more flexibility to suit the needs of your children, and you will have less hassle of folding it in places where you might need to.
you won't have any problems on and off the monorail, it is wheel chair accessible like everything else has to be. You just might have to go the wheelchair way.
Not sure if this is any help but I was in Disney in September with my Mom and she was on a motorized scooter and they fit on the monorail. But the single strollers might work better if you want to go off to the shops with your daughter or to a different part of the park.
Hi T.,
NO MATTER WHICH STROLLER YOU TAKE IT WILL BE A struggle .
life is not condusive to strollers ...
* if you take 2 ; yes ,you have MORE freedom and DADDY will proudly H_E_L_P [ his idea] .
In the airport KEEP THE CHILDREN 'IN' the [ whichever stroller wins] stroller right up into boarding gate ... that way you wheel your children on 1st [ a courtesy to mommy]
the stweard will take your [ winning] stroller and keep it in front of plane for you WHEN YOU LAND !!!!!!!yeah .. how nice ...
alot of peoples ck in the strollers DO NOT wheel them .
I really think I would just vote=: take 2 , if 3yr old is too excited to sit and runs to a princess; It will not disturb baby ....and you can ' stroll' your packages ..
let daddy win : take 2 they have multi uses !!!!!!!!!
enjoy the trip . be safe , have f-u-n- !!!!!!!
Having just done the Disney thing last year with our then 7 yr old and 3 yr old twins--don't take the double stroller. Your hubby is right about the confined spaces. If it were a tandem stroller, it would be much easier to manuever, but being a side-by-side you could be finding yourself in a tricky situation...especially in the busy season. You may find too that you don't even need the stroller for your daughter. Our twins were very independent and excited about being there that 1/2 the time we ended up pushing an empty stroller while they walked. It was very nice too because by the end of the day they were exhausted and went to sleep right away for us back at the hotel. Disney does have stroller rental if you need it. Yes it can add up to be a bit pricy, but it can save you from needing to find the extra space in your vehicle for your own strollers.
I would take 2 singles. It will be a pain to maneuver through the crowds with a side by side double. Plus you mention the monorail, which the stroller would have to fold if it was crowded. Are you driving or staying on property? Because if you plan to use the Disney Park bus transportation the stroller HAS to be folded before getting on the bus.
And for a side note, the double stroller is $31.00 a day to rent in the parks.
If you'd like any info feel free to email me. We go to WDW at least once a year and I'm also a part of the Mickey Moms panel.
Good Luck!
We took 1 stroller with us to Florida, and then we rented a 2nd one for my older child (who normally would not have been in a strolled anymore) in Disney. It was a terrific option. If your 3 yr old still is in a stroller, I would tke 2 strollers, not 1. The kids are different ages and you and your husband might want/need to split for a little while to take care of the children's different needs.
We did lug a big Perago stroller with us so my youngest could nap in a snap.
Have an amazing vacation!
Call Disney; they're very helpful.
