Seems like copper pipes will corrode with bluish, purple stuff, maybe from the soldering compound. maybe try the blue Dawn dishwashing liquid. What a shame,, hope it helps.
Of course it was a BRAND new shirt, I rinsed out some spilled yogurt because I didn't want it getting smelly while waiting for laundry day, and hung it on the shower head, and the pipe part stained the shirt! It left a dark purplish-grey stain, a BIG one! What kind of pipe does that, and how can I get it out? I'm trying to search it online, and maybe it's galvanized? I just moved into this older apartment a few months ago, so, now I know never to do that again. Any tips on removing the stain? Thanks!!

I have no idea what that stain is but a few thoughts:
My mom swears by Original (blue) Dawn dish soap for ALL stains.
My grandmother believed in Fels Naptha bar soap for all stains.....(laundry section)
Maybe try a combination of those 2 things?
I suggest soaking the shirt in OxyClean. I've had success removing nearly all stains doing that.
If you have an A.C. Moore store close by, they sell "Grandma's Spot Remover" that works fantastic. Just a little bit goes a long way and it really works. I had several pieces of clothing I thought were ruined because they had gone through the drier with something that caused a spot or stain on them. I tried everything I could think of to get the stain out but nothing worked until I tried this stuff. It even removed dried acrylic paint from my daughter's jackets.
I am not sure what to say to get the stain out but you have a few good ideas.
Go and get an extra tension shower curtain rod. Put it over the center of your tub. Make sure it's good and tight. Hang all drip dry clothes on that rod. I can't put any long sleeved sweaters in the dryer because I have extra long arms and the sleeves shrink to the point I can't wear the sweaters. I just hang them up to dry and they are ready the next day. Sometimes when I hang stuff up in the summer (humid here), I have jammies that shrink too, I set a fan on the bathroom counter to blow them dry
Next time you spill something on your clothes use a baby wipe to get the stain off and toss in the laundry, sometimes you can still wear the clothes.
